Positive: Had everything we needed. Good location for walking groups .

Negative: Some of the beds were a little on the hard side for some of our group members . Make sure you park in front of the garage as stated , two spaces available. As the nearby lay-by they were handing out car parking fines. Even if you’re off the road . Maybe a warning sign for guests would be helpful or in the details when arriving .

Positive: First visit to the Yorkshire Dales and we arrived in this stunning part of the world in glorious sunshine. South View Cottage is bigger inside than it looks from the outside and certainly enough space for the 6 of us. The garden has been beautifully planted, with a babbling brook at the foot of the garden and lambs gambling in the surrounding fields, it really was a beautiful Spring setting. We had a really lovely Easter weekend.

Negative: We weren't quite sure whether we were recycling correctly, so a little more instruction on that would've been helpful. eg: does food waste go with general waste? / which outside bin takes which? / does all recycling (paper/card/bottles/cans) go in the same bin...? The TripAdvisor reviews of the pubs are not inaccurate...

Summary: We had a lovely weekend and can certainly imagine coming back.

Positive: Stunning garden, lots of space, comfy beds & clean. Perfect location for walking the 3 peaks.

Negative: Damp smell- I’d def recommend throwing the windows open and putting some air diffusers around the place. The village doesn’t have a shop so it would have been nice to include a welcome package of essentials. If coming to Horton do not rely on the pubs, go to supermarket before you arrive (if coming by train). Both pubs are a surreal experience. We paid £20 for less than average food in the most unwelcoming atmosphere. If you have a car you can get anything you want from Settle, not far away. Wish we’d known this beforehand- would have made the whole experience much much better.
