Positive: The hotel is very well located. Vientiane is a small Asian city, and although distances are short, walking during the hotter parts of the day can be exhausting. I chose to go for walks very early in the morning (around 6 am), then return to the hotel for breakfast and a short rest. After that, I always used Loca/Taxi, which was reliable, inexpensive, clean, and safe. Airport ⇄ hotel: 135–150 000 Kip Train station ⇄ hotel: 250–300 000 Kip (depending on traffic) Hotel ⇄ city centre/cultural heritage sites 55-60 000Kip The breakfast offered more than enough in both quality and quantity. The staff are professional, kind, and always willing to assist. I enjoyed both the continental and the traditional Laotian options. Expecting anything beyond this would be unreasonable—it reflects a lack of understanding of Laos, and indeed of much of the world. I stayed in two different rooms, both of exceptional quality, especially considering the economic context. Everything worked perfectly, and the level of comfort exceeded that of equivalent hotels in Australia or the United States. We are in Laos, and the experience must be understood in its own context. Nothing could be more fitting. Asking for more would be unjust to the culture, and to the genuine, thoughtful service of the hotel team—from management to housekeeping. The manager, Mario, and the night desk officer, Rico, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. If I return, I will certainly stay here again. Thank you, Rico and Mario.

Negative: I genuinely liked everything. I used this hotel as my base while travelling through Laos, and coming back to Souphattra Hotel always felt like returning to a warm and welcoming place.

Positive: Fantastic location right in the heart of Vientiane! The staff are super, super friendly and incredibly well-trained, making every interaction a pleasure. The breakfast is delicious with a great variety to start the day perfectly. The bed is very comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. This hotel truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended!

Positive: The interior and facilities are absolutely stunning, and overall cleanliness and hygiene was great.

Negative: Service of the reception staff needs to be worked on, does not quite reach the 5-star expectation. Buffet breakfast was also a bit of a let down, little variety and stale pastries.
