Positive: Sooriya Resort is a midsize hotel in a remote and lovely setting. Everything about it is well-designed and luxurious. I had a special room with an expanded view and I spent hours just gazing at the sea.

Negative: The saddest thing about lovely luxurious hotels is that air conditioning requires that doors and windows be kept shut and I REALLY wanted to listen to the sound of the sea. Always a rebel, I left my window open for a bit and filled my room with flying insects. Oops.

Negative: Access road is not in good condition for the last 1.5km stretch. It’s really difficult to take cars with low ground clearance.
