Positive: Beautiful historical property from 17th century with modern bathrooms We felt so welcomed by the wonderful lady who greeted us at check in. She made us wish we’d have stayed longer! The property is attached to the amazing cathedral, so location cannot be better

Positive: The location is fabulous, right by the cathedral and at the heart of the historic part of Guarda. Very friendly proprietor. The room was comfortable and the bathroom looked newly done. Lovely shady garden where you can sit under a large fig tree or grape vine. Substantial cold buffet for breakfast. The restaurant opposite 'Nobre Vinhos e tal' was excellent for both food and wine - not the cheapest but committed to creating a sustainable local economy in the Coa Valley.

Negative: Not a complaint, but be aware that fewer people speak English here than in Lisbon or Porto. It's a good chance to learn a few useful words and phrases in Portuguese!
