Positive: I really enjoyed my stay at Sol y Sombra. The cottage was beautifully decorated, with lovely artwork and a clear attention to aesthetics in every detail, from the plates to the water glasses. It was bright and sunny, with beautiful mountain views, and situated in a wonderfully quiet part of town. I particularly appreciated the fresh flowers in the room, such a thoughtful touch. The cottage offered great value, and the host was warm, helpful and friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Positive: We had an amazing stay at Sol y Sombra. The property was spotless, beautifully maintained, and in a fantastic location with stunning mountain views. Our host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She also recommended some great places to visit and things to do around Montagu, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We felt right at home and would definitely stay here again.
Negative: There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything was perfect, and we wouldn’t change a thing.
Summary: A perfect stay with breathtaking mountain views, an amazing host, and a spotless property—we’ll definitely be back!

Positive: We loved our stay at Sol y Sombra, the only disappointment was that we only had 1 night there – I would have loved to stay longer. A-K is a warm, friendly, very helpful host, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It’s in a quiet street, but close enough to the centre of Montagu to be able to walk there, stunning views of the mountains opposite, the small stoep is perfect, be it for sundowners, a braai, morning coffee…. Inside is very comfortable: a big, comfy bed, nice big bathroom with lovely fittings, small kitchenette area, which is quite adequate and well equipped (loved the big coffee mugs), a cosy sitting space and some interesting reading matter. A-K left us so many lovely welcoming goodies, including easter eggs, as it was the Easter weekend, and some home-made snacks. We’ll be back!
Summary: Highly recommended! Don’t miss out on this gem of a spot 😊
