Summary: Sol Nessebar Bay Hotel

Positive: The hotel was ok - the room was spacious and clean, the balcony was very large (more than expected) and had a drying rack for towels/swimsuits, which is something I usually miss in other hotels. We enjoyed the food - the menu was diverse, and many local dishes were featured.
Negative: - Since our stay was in September, almost all additional restaurants were closed. So no Spanish tapas, no burgers, no asian food, just a "German" point with sausages and pretzels. - The offered drinks were made from cheap spirits used in hotels like this. If you enjoy a good cocktail made with high-quality ingredients, this will be a significant disappointment. - When it comes to food, as said, it was tasty and diverse, but my partner suffered a mild food poisoning during our last night, which must have been caused by some sauce or sweet dessert. - The hotel wasn't able to provide a later checkout (the receptionist didn't even check on the computer, just immediately said they are fully booked, even though this was the end of the season). - The hotel's Wi-Fi was painfully unstable - sometimes it worked and had ok speed, but then after a while it stopped working, and this was happening the whole time. - The water in the swimming pools was extremely cold. (Not sure if this is on purpose or not.) The hotel also has an indoor pool with a spa, which was quite hard to find, and it also closes pretty soon. I personally would enjoy sitting in a whirlpool in the evening, when it's already cold outside (bear in mind it's September and an especially cold summer in 2025). But they just close it around 6 p.m. We didn't enjoy the sea as well, because the beach was full of seaweed, which makes swimming unpleasant. - This last point is not related to the hotel itself, but be aware that public transport in Bulgaria is somewhat unreliable. The time tables have the time of departure from the first stop, not the stop where you are waiting, and if the bus comes completely full you will end up waiting another hour for the next one (unless you take taxi).
Summary: It was OK, maybe would be better sooner this year.

Positive: We are very grateful to the staff - they were so lovely and kind and made us and our 1 year old son feel super welcome! Thank you so much for all the smiles and kindness 🤍
Negative: I guess the balcony door could do with a mosquito net! Other than that, pretty perfect :)
Summary: Lovely stay for a family with a young one. Will definitely return!

Positive: The hotel is located in a very good location.Close to nice beaches, to the old town, to the aquapark... We received two rooms connected by a door (family room) which was a very good solution for us The staff was great, the food was very good (especially if you are not vegeterian), the place is very clean and well maintended. There are taxis working with the hotel with fixed rates per location.
Negative: The resort is great if you have young kids. There are almost no vegeterian food options during the day between the main meals (even the pizza was with meet) Altought according to booking.com comments it seems that no metter which hotel you reserve (bay, mare or palace) you are allowed to use all the facilities...this is not the case...each pool has signs saying that the facility is for a a specific hotel The hotel private beach is good only if you are in the palace hotel...otherwise...you are not getting anything there and also the sea shore is small and not so attractive... You are allowed to order once a week dinner in one of two restaurants located in the resort. I couldn't order anything during our week stay since it was full...

Positive: Except family hotel
Negative: My only very small issue would be that you cannot get any alcohol other than beer down at the beach (although it isn’t a very far walk up to the other bars)
Summary: Amazing family hotel. 10/10

Positive: Food was great. Both selection and quality. A lot of snacks everywhere available almost all the time. Water and juices available everywhere. Water coolers on every floor so you can get water late at night if you need it. A lot of activities for children and adults. Daily shows, competitions. Small advice - study everything the hotel has to offer. There are a lot of places and you wouldn't want to miss any of them Staff was friendly and overall trying to help with all your issues. We had a faulty shower head and child's cot - both were replaced instantly. The reception is friendly and answers all your questions. Good access to the beach. With sunbeds and umbrellas available. A lot of pools, all are kids friendly. Water taxi to old Nessebar is also available there.
Negative: Internet. It would be better if you didn't have it at all. It barely works in some places and doesn't work at all in others. We stayed on the 5th floor and it only worked in the toilet. And even then it was maxing out at 1MB if you are very lucky. A lot of somewhat absurd rules (you are not supposed to come to the lunch in flip flops.. in a summer resort.. where EVERYONE is in flip flops). But nobody follows any of them. It would be nice to get a more adequate set rules that you actually enforce. Like you are not supposed to jump in the pools. But everyone does. The gym is basically unusable. Most of the equipment is either already broken or on the verge of breaking. Barbell is missing the stopper so the plates might fall on your feet. 2 machines straight show the errors that they need maintenance. One had a broken cable.
Summary: Good all-inclusive hotel with great food and atrocious internet

Positive: The evening shows were fun and the kids enjoyed the mini disco each evening. There’s basically snacks and food available somewhere in the resort all day.
Negative: The dining area was quite small for the size of the resort, even considering the flow of guests when they arrive during meal times. The tables, unless pushed together (and finding two tables side by side to do so is difficult) can only fit 4 people. The meals were quite general and nothing to really write home about. The selection was almost the same each day with maybe one or two dishes that were “theme” based. We had a top floor apartment with a 180 degree view of the sea which was nice. I cannot speak about standard rooms but I believe each of them have a balcony. The showers have very short curtains, so containing the water is difficult and ends up all over the floor. Our floor drain was raised so the water did not drain effectively. So we used the towels each day to soak up the water, which means our towels were exchanged each day. Not a problem, but when trying to save the property water for washing towels, it doesn’t help. Plenty of sun loungers if you get out early and reserve one. The pool was fine. The beach is close and has loungers you can pay to use. There is a free aqua bouncy thing in the sea that you can use and the water is shallow all around it. Overall I was not overly impressed with the amount and quality of service and things to do for the 10-day price, but the kids had fun so that’s a plus. The resort has three building to stay in. I would recommend the Sol Nesebar Palace over the Bay or Mare. Pool is larger, lounge area is bigger and more chairs, there’s an area on the beach with loungers but only if you are staying in the Palace, and the dining area seemed nicer but I can’t confirm as you can’t eat in it unless you are staying there.
Summary: Kids will have fun, but there’s much to be desired.
