Positive: When I booked Sobe Proštija, I had no idea we would be staying in the former parish priest's residence dating back to the 16th century. Sleeping in a building that has served Ptuj's parish for nearly 500 years, beside a church with more than 1,000 years of history, was a truly special and humbling experience. It felt like stepping into living history. What touched us even more was discovering on the morning we checked out that the kind gentleman who had been preparing and serving our breakfast each day was actually the parish priest of Ptuj. We had assumed the property had long since become a privately owned hotel, but learning that it is still owned and lovingly cared for by the parish made our stay incredibly meaningful. As Roman Catholics, this was something we will always treasure. The property has been beautifully restored, blending historic charm with modern comfort. It is located next to a historic church and watch tower built in the 11th century, and behind it is Ptuj castle. The massage chairs were a delightful surprise after long days of sightseeing. We spent 40 days traveling across Europe to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, and of all the wonderful places we visited, Sobe Proštija will always hold a special place in our hearts. Without a doubt, it was the highlight of our entire journey. I hope our paths cross again someday. Father Andrej and Petra, thank you for your warm hospitality and for giving us an experience we'll never forget.

Positive: A lovely stay in Ptuj (our room was clean and quiet, and we appreciated the mural paintings!) Very kind and helpful host - we arrived late and he gave us very clear directions to access the property and our room. Nice breakfast with good coffee. Would definitely stay again, both the accommodation and the town were charming.

Positive: Wonderful location in the middle of old town --- with parking! Host was charming and devoted to making our stay a pleasant one. Lovely surroundings in the courtyard of the old monastery.

Negative: Would have liked breakfast to be available earlier. Rooms were a little chilly with no ability to control the temperature and no extra blankets.

Summary: Lovely place in a perfect locale for visiting Ptuj on foot, with charming host.
