Positive: What I loved most was the perfect mix of comfort and nature. The Shepherd’s hut was spotless, really well equipped, and felt so cosy, yet just outside the door were the most stunning surroundings – a peaceful fishing lake, fresh country air, and complete tranquility. It’s rare to find somewhere so clean and comfortable that also feels completely in tune with nature.

Positive: What did I like? Well we didn't like we absolutely loved every single minute what a little gem .I felt so relaxed we was literally so chilled.Our dog loved it too.The views took our breath away and if u want nature at its finest this is the place.Deffo be back

Negative: To me wasn't anything maybe just more comfortable chairs on our terrace.Because view of that lake was breathtaking and u honestly don't want to leave it.So maybe bit more comfy chairs

Positive: The location was perfect for a peaceful, relaxing weekend. The ‘Carp’ hut was clean, equipped with everything we could need. The bed was very cosy and comfortable we slept well. Mark and Geraldine the owners were friendly, kind and nothing was too much trouble. The hot rolls/croissants were really yummy brought to the hut at a convenient time to us. It was a treat to see so much wildlife from our balcony. My partner enjoyed the fishing from the peg just a few steps away from the hut close enough for me to take him cups of tea/coffee etc!!! He caught many carp, they were very healthy fish. The WiFi connection was good considering the location. We could order takeaway food for delivery. We will definitely be going back soon.

Negative: There wasn’t anything to dislike about the property, it was just a fair distance to walk to the shower/toilet hut. We could have chosen an en-suite hut but the location of these huts were further from the lower lake with its own fishing peg and a balcony overlooking the lake.

Summary: Our stay was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday challenges, the setting was stunning

Positive: Everything was perfect. This is such an idyllic setting that Geraldine and Mark have clearly thought a lot about, we did not miss any home comforts at all as everything you could think of was provided, even a little speaker so we could listen to music by the barbecue. Mark was accommodating and knowledgeable about the area and was forever hard working on improving or cleaning something around the area. I just loved the little extras, from warm croissants hand delivered and treats for the dog, to the fly screens, to extra fire wood, to bird feeders to encourage the birds. It was just heaven, fishing was also great and the fish are really healthy and cared for. We will certainly be back again soon.

Negative: I couldn’t fault the property on anything, my only feedback would be for clumsy people like me and just put a little reminder on the balcony steps that they can be a little uneven. But this is all, and only because I am forgetful - my partner got on fine.

Thoughtful touches like a speaker, quality equipment, and a generous starter pack with milk, eggs, honey, jam, fresh rolls, and croissants made our stay feel extra special. Despite being fully booked, it remained blissfully quiet - ideal for switching off. Mark and Geraldine were fantastic host - warm, helpful, and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!
