Rustic and charming cottage nestled in the foothills of North Carolina. We allow a maximum of 2 guests in the cottage which is conveniently located on a large private lot in a quiet neighborhood near Interstate 40 (I-40). Travel 1 hour west to Asheville, 1 hour North to Boone, 1 hour South to Charlotte or 1 hour East to Winston-Salem. Local attractions 3 miles away include downtown Historic Valdese where you can find the Waldensian Museum, a public library and fitness center with indoor/outdoor pool. If you're looking for fun on the water the Catawba River boat landing is 3 miles away, 12 miles to Lake Hickory and 27 miles to Lake James. If you are coming to the area for a temporary work contract we will be happy to provide a discounted monthly rate. The owner/host lives next door for easy communication. We have a "No Pet" policy. The cottage is furnished to provide a home-away-from-home experience while you travel for work or leisure.

Summary: My father and I used this cottage as our home base while visiting relatives in the area. It had a screened in porch, a nice sized eat in kitchen, a bathroom with shower/tub, two comfortable bedrooms, and a good sized living room. The cottage had everything we needed for the week. There’s plenty of room inside for at least four people. The home is kept clean. The owners promptly responded to all communications. The owners also stopped by upon arrival to introduce themselves. If in the area again, I would stay at Coldwater Cottage!

Summary: This property was EXACTLY what it was described as. We had everything we needed, right here at our home away from home. Communication with Libby was spot on, and she was always quick to reply to any questions we had. We would DEFINITELY recommend this property to anyone looking to getaway from the everyday, yet have everything you need. We are permanently relocating to the area, and will definitely recommend to our family and friends, should they want a place of their own when they visit. Five *****star, yet simple.
