Positive: The photos don’t do the cottage justice. I was expecting a rundown cottage but it was a lovely and cosy home away from home. The owner included lots of teabags, coffee and milk. A good selection of books, games and even a jigsaw puzzle which was age appropriate for my 5 year old.

Negative: WiFi - it didn’t work on the second day of our 3 day stay. Informed the owner but no response. It’s not a big deal as we have mobile data but our kids couldn’t use the internet on their tablets.

Positive: It’s a beautiful property, very peaceful, clean and everything you could need supplied. Hot tub is fabulous addition! The location is great for York and Harrogate. We were in the centre of York in 20mins ! We will be booking again!

Positive: Beautiful cottage in pretty surroundings but the lack of communication with owner made things difficult as no directions or key info sent & had to chase this up via phone an hour before leaving. A few minor issues in cottage. Toilet kept flushing & wouldn't stop a few times. There was a strange line on picture on TV on all channels & a few long cobwebs on ceiling above fireplace. Apart from that a comfortable place despite being on busy main road the traffic eased to allow a peaceful nights sleep on a comfy bed with crisp cotton bed linen. Nice grounds to walk around & parking directly outside.

Negative: Communication with owner could be improved

Positive: It was beautifully decorated, clean and wonderful. We were welcomed by the host and he was super friendly. The host made it easy to find the location, provided great instructions and it was overall a very lovely stay. We would 100% recommend and visit again.

Positive: Easy to book and easy to find. Just what we needed for a pit stop prior to a job interview.

Negative: It was very cold when we arrived and it took a good couple of hours to get the cottage warm. We had given an arrival time so the heating could have been turned on ready.

Positive: Overall a good couple of days, we booked cottages 1,2, and 3 for our family. Rooms were nice, warm and cosy.

Negative: We all agreed the beds were so uncomfortable, and combined with the excessive road noise, we didn’t sleep well at all. We were staying in the cottage 1, and found that the conservatory door wouldn’t close properly or lock, the door which connected from the conservatory into the lounge couldn’t be locked either, but when I raised this with the staff, they said not to worry it would be alright! Felt very uneasy leaving the property knowing our possessions weren’t secured, also going to bed with doors unlocked.
