Positive: Located on the beach! They are so attentive and professional about everything! Always someone to help you out with anything you need! Surfing, snorkeling, dinner, scooter rental, water.

Negative: Jellyfish in the water in front of the place.

Positive: The accommodation and the team are simply wonderful! We spent two days there (and would have loved to stay longer) and were offered the full range of warmth and helpfulness. The team was always on hand when we needed something (e.g. a second blanket just before midnight or a hotspot at any time when we needed internet - Mr. Hotspot aka Arman was always on hand) or otherwise gave us a great time (excursion on scooters with Ade and Andres across the island or a barbecue together on our last evening). The girls from the kitchen, Sara and Nur, made very tasty food and drinks and always had a smile on their faces. Ade speaks English best, we communicated with the others via translator, which worked well. As the accommodation and the enclosed beach are also frequented by locals, there is always something going on - but you can also walk along the eternally long, beautiful beach and enjoy the peace and quiet, or watch the children surfing. The room is perfectly equipped (towels, AC, tooth brush, shower gel, curtains in the room) and has decent size for two people + a nice porch with sea view. The mattress was very comfy (180x2m), so all-in-all a recommendable stay!

Negative: In my opinion, there is nothing to complain about because we simply had such a good time and overlooked things that we didn't consider important, such as the fact that there is no internet (but as I said, we always got a hotspot when we needed it), or the fact that you can always hear a dog or a horn at night (the road is not very busy), which you would probably hear in any accommodation in Indonesia due to the simple construction.

Positive: We spent 5 amazing nights at Simagirau Homestay. The bungalow/rooms are located in the best place and best beach on the north island. They are just on the beach you open a door put step on the sand and feels ocean breeze. Included breakfast,friendly staff and clean bed , just nothing more needed. We are highly recommended 👌

Positive: We had an incredible stay at this hostel. A room right by the ocean, amazing local hospitality, and breakfast on the beach every morning. Everyone went above and beyond to make our 8-night stay unforgettable. From snorkeling activities and fish BBQs on the beach to scooter rentals, everything was perfect. We highly recommend staying at this hostel during your trip to the Mentawai Islands. A huge thank you to the entire team at Simagirau Hostel!

Positive: This was definitely a hidden gem. The guys who run this new homestay started with a cafe/bar and recently built two simple but very comfortable cabins right on the beach with a stunning view. From the moment we arrived the service was top notch. A fresh coconut and some fruit to start with. The cabin itself: What it’s not - a five star hotel. What it is - super chill and comfortable place to stay if you like to wake up right on the beach with a little terrace and comfy chairs. - a bar/cafe on the property that serves delicious food and ice cold beers, coconuts and more. - host that is super friendly, helpful and happy to accommodate all your needs. Island hopping, motorbike rental, transport from and to the ferry. It’s all there. So if you like to live the island life, and appreciate an amazing host to help you around the island, don’t hesitate any longer and book this spot 👌
