Positive: We spent 4 nights as a family of 4 at Sigiriya Dream Inn, and we loved our stay. The room is spotlessly clean, large and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was huge, lots of variety with traditional Sri Lankan food, toast and fresh fruit. The pool was great, and much welcome after the sweaty hike up Lion Rock. Location was nice and quiet, about 5 mins out of Sigiriya town which wasn’t an issue as we had a driver. The owner Chinthaka was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, as were his family who also worked at the property.

Negative: The hot water shower was a bit hit and miss, but this was a minor issue. The bathroom also smells a bit musty due to limited ventilation, but this is quite common throughout Sri Lanka.

Positive: The family couldn’t do enough for you. The evening meal was freshly cooked and the breakfast was fabulous. Our room was not entire finished but once done I’m sure it will be beautiful. We organised a safari and Lion Rock tour too. So easy to leave direct from your hotel.

Positive: I stayed at Sigiriya Dream Inn on Thursday, November 6th, and had an excellent experience. My room was exceptionally clean and very spacious, and since it was not busy season, it felt like I had the entire property to myself. The pool was clean and very refreshing. There were some gnats around the pool area, but this seemed to be a normal outdoor occurrence rather than an issue with the hotel itself. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with a drink and a plate of fresh fruit, which was a thoughtful touch after a long day of travel. Before checking out, they served a large and delicious breakfast. Overall, the property was well-maintained, comfortable, and offered great hospitality.

Negative: They were doing a bit of construction so I couldn't take an afternoon nap - but honestly, not a big deal. It was off season and totally an appropriate time of day for that activity.

Negative: It is in Kimbissa, far away from the main restaurant area of Sigiriya. Pitch dark street, had to walk with a torch. There was mould in the toilet. And the air conditioner was making a very loud noise. It woke me up a couple of times. Had to sleep with earplugs. Breakfast wasn’t fresh.

Summary: Overpriced, but ok.

Positive: The location of Dream inn is very good - not far from Sigiriya, minimarkets and cafe but rather quiet and green. The room is huge and clean. Bed is comfortable for us. Air-conditioning works well.The pool is great, especially for relaxing after climbing the Lion rock. The stuff is very friendly and helpful - he gives us a ride on the nearest locations without any charges and give us a good discount on ride from Habarana station to the property. And also helps with all the requests we have. Breakfast is huge: toasts, kottu, pancakes, fruits... can't even eat all.

Negative: There's no every day cleaning - but it's ok for us. Sometimes electricity fails, but it's ok for the East coast. Just know about that. Lots of disturbing flies in the open dining area - not comfortable for me - but the common thing in Shi Lanka. Poor mobile connection in this area - it doesn't depend from the stuff, but just keep in mind.
