Positive: Quiet, lovely views, clean and well organised. A lot of thought and attention to detail. Host has made an effort to make sure all necessary house items are at hand. We felt welcomed and comfortable staying at Sibbu His.

Negative: The bedroom doors could do with some maintenance work.

Positive: I don't think we could've chosen better. Sibbu hus is near so much to see & do yet remote enough to be away from people and have great dark skies opportunities. The accommodation is the right mix of style and comfort, we had a great time (despite being snowed in in a storm).

Positive: Sibbu Hus is located north west of Selfoss and a car is probably necessary to access it as it is about 25kms out of Selfoss in the countryside, in a small hamlet with several other houses, one being 50 meters away, and the other houses are nearby. The location is handy to the golden circle and to the south coast road, rather than having to travel down from Reykjavik, and good if you're looking for the Northern Lights as there's not much light pollution around the house. The nearest shop/petrol station is about 16kms away. The house is of good size for 2 couples or small family. It has been recently renovated with many of the new attributes (furniture/kitchen/bathroom) looking like they are from IKEA. This means it presents well now but may not stand up to constant use of short term rentals for long. The wifi works well. There were some nice touches like free coffee pods and pod machine, ground coffee for a coffee press. oil for cooking, dishwasher tabs and tea bags. Disa was very attentive on the messages via Booking.com, always being helpful.

Negative: The shower drain, the bath towels are clean but somewhat tired. This family house requires extra payment (20 euros) to use the laundry.

Summary: Our stay was comfortable.

Positive: Not far off the main road, easy to find, country living, peaceful, very warm and cozy, perfect for cold and harsh weather. Big and comfortable for 4 adults. Great facilities, nice shower, everything needed for everyday cooking, hooks to hang coats and towels etc. Nearest town is about 20 mins away for groceries. Great base for road tripping around golden circle & Vik. 20 mins to secret lagoon. Icelandic horses around the backyard and lucky to have northern lights above us during our stay (no need to go searching and join any tour). Really enjoyed our stay.
