Positive: The accomodation was very comfortable and had everything needed to rest before heading to death valley. The staff were very nice and helpful - they provided some local tips relating to shops, restaurants and operating hours and they provided some suggestions for local hikes and highlights. The room was very comfortable and well sized. It was also very quiet, allowing for a good sleep.

Positive: I left Death Valley and arrived in heaven..Shoshone. The motel was very well equipped.. extremely comfortable. The bar/restaurant opposite was great. But also there was a desert tortoise sanctuary and lots of short nature hikes. The petrol station has a lovely chatty member of staff and sells all sorts of local goods and there is even a museum (though it closes at 3). This village only has a population of 30!. There is also lots of scenery to see south of here... dont bother with DV.. just got to this oasis and it's surroundings.
Negative: It was perfect.

Positive: Shoshone Inn is a very small motel, very clean, good breakfast, very accomodating staff person (owner?) It’s convenient to Death Valley N.P. We loved staying there.

Positive: Only hotel in a town of 23 people. Nice nature walk close by.
Negative: At 200+ $ per night, I'd say it's about 120% too expensive. You can stay in Death Valley in the park at Stovepipe Wells for half as much.. In plain English,, definitely not worth the money. Or in other words, a rip off.

Positive: Very practical Inn on the way to Death Valley. Our budget room was spacious and comfortable, with coffee machine, fridge and microwave: everything one would need in this remote area. Bathroom had one of the best showers ever!! Small breakfast served, pointed to quality more than to quantity: very much appreciated.
Negative: We knew we booked a budget room, but we were at least expecting a comfortable bed: it was on the contrary very tiny and a bit difficult for the 2 of us to sleep, especially because the room was big enough for a bigger bed. The only restaurant and gas station of Shohone have the same prices you will find in DV.

Positive: Free breakfast which was great and unexpected. There is a heated outdoor pool which was awesome. And some cool nature walks. And a turtle rescue area. My wife liked the toiletries which she said were a premium brand
