Positive: This was one of the most memorable short stay breaks my wife and I have been blessed to have experienced. Truly heavenly location, at times we had to pinch ourselves we weren't dreaming. The location is breathtaking, in whatever direction you looked was like an oil painting. The cottage was perfect, clean, spacious, with every amenitie at hand. We had the pleasure of meeting our host, Michael, a gentleman, who gave us a history of the cottage and the surrounding area and made sure we had everything we needed. This was Special!, really special and we hope to be back very soon. Thank you Michael.

Positive: The views are just breathtaking. The home is lovely and well looked after. Everything u need in a home away from home. Loved the two donkeys outside. Got to see them through the kitchen window everyday.

Positive: The view from the house is spectacular. The house is homely, cosy and comfortable. Fantastic pub only a few minutes away with amazing food.You feel like your in pure countryside but close to many nice places to visit.The villages of Downings and Carrigart are very close by with lovely beaches. The walk to murder hole beach and the views are beautiful. We also visited the Alpaca farm in Downings which was so lovely.

Negative: There is a meter in the house for the electricity, for which you need €2 coins. We didn't know this beforehand. It didn't cost a whole lot over the few days but it would be better to let people know this to be sure they have the cash with them.

Positive: This house has a fantastic position offering excellent views. 1 km away is an excellent pub and restaurant called the singing pub. I would not advise walking to it as it is a very winding road and would be dangerous. The food was reasonably priced, fast service and excellent quality. This was a good base to explore the area from. (we did a distillery, footgolf, Doe Castle, Fanad lighthouse, Downings beach, and of course the Wild Atlantic Way) Bring your binoculars as you can do great bird watching from the house.

Negative: The electricity works on a paid meter so bring plenty of 2euro coins or you could be left in the dark!

Positive: The location was great and the view from the house was beautiful. The owner was helpful . The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had recently been updated.

Negative: We did not expect to have to pay for electricity. This has never been something you expect to have to do when renting a property for a week. There was an antiquated electricity meter in the lounge area which required 2 euro coins. The lounge area was very outdated and uncomfortable. We found that the property was not clean in places and some of the wiring needs an upgrade.

Summary: A pleasant stay but we felt the property needs a few extra additions to make it value for money .
