Positive: Relaxing home that accommodated six women for four days. With comfortable beds, three bathrooms and a kitchen that helped us cook delicious meals, eat and play games in the dining room and visit in a designer decorated living room with comfortable couches. Great places to explore on Orcas or enjoy the view at Shore Thing Retreat.

Positive: Well appointed for our family. Enough dishes and chairs and comfy beds. Good hang out spots throughout the house. Nice collection of books and games. Good central location for the island and pretty easy to do some short bike rides from.

Negative: Bathrooms were a bit odd but somehow worked. A fair bit of dust bunnies various places but with good extra towels and sheets and such in case they were needed. Disappointed we couldn't get closer to water. And the internet was a bit spotty.

Summary: Really liked the view. Well appointed. Comfortable overall.

Positive: The deck was nice to have the doors wide open from the bedroom and listen to all the wildlife while watching the fog and sunrise. Go on a walk down the road and found many edible mushrooms that I fried up. Loved the dining table and heated floors upstairs in the bathroom

Positive: We had a fantastic stay in this lovely home! Beyond the magnificent view (we spent quite a bit of time on the back deck overlooking the water), there were plenty of sleeping spaces for everyone and wonderful grounds for our dogs. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc. Plenty of linens, super soft towels, lots of seating in the main room. The 3 full bathrooms were comfortable and nicely laid out.

Negative: There wasn't much we didn't like but here are suggestions for the owner: 1. Set up the bathroom with the claw foot tub with a curtain so someone can take a shower there. The tub was delightful but having the extra shower would have helped with bathroom traffic. 2. Provide a can opener. If there is one there, it is well hidden (we all hunted and came up empty). 3. Have a few more basic spices stocked for those of us who cook all the meals.

Positive: Beautiful house, comfortable beds, nice view! Kitchen has everything we needed. Bathrooms very nice - low water pressure though. I liked the big beat up looking dining table. Art work is nice. General peaceful feeling in the house. Big open area really hard to get warm but space heaters provided. Construction on both sides of this property but grateful not much going on during our stay. Fenced side yard for doggies. Previous renter didn’t clean up after their dog, so that was unpleasant. I just loved this house.

Negative: Some flexibility and responsibility rather than empty apologies from management. We arrived at 4 which is the time stated we’d arrive. Then we waited for about 45 minutes for the cleaner to finish cleaning.. She had personal issue that gave her a late start. Management would not allow us to check out a little bit later. We were just two people and didn’t use most of the house. Also there were piles of dog poop in side yard. It takes a long time to get the house warm with just the wall heaters. Space heaters were found in one of the closets. The house is lovely, peaceful, equipped kitchen, nice places to relax. A few tacky cosmetic things- broken window shades in bedroom. Curtain wrinkled with hem safety pinned.

Positive: We loved the layout of the house, the view of the sound, the ping pong table, comfy beds, big windows, deck and privacy in the woods. The bedrooms are spacious and lovely. The kitchen and living room space is nice for us to gather. Nice to have games available. So happy to be able to bring our dog. We really loved our time here!

Negative: Wished we had afternoon sun and easy access to water, but loved it anyway. Some supply issues, but those were always attended to right away. Overall, this is a great house that has been nicely updated and could be really fabulous. The potential is here, but quality of details fall short of expectations: kitchen supplies are not quality i.e. coffee maker, toaster, dishware, fridge is loud, etc. Heat system hard to figure out (though we’re surprised to need it at all this week). Could use some better lighting in the living room (a few lamps or torch light and the kitchen fluorescent lights could use an update). Would be great to up the quality of the deck furniture. Towels are rough and uncomfortable to use. Yard a bit scruffy. Some attention to quality upgrades would make a big difference and make us feel better about the price.
