Positive: Loved the location, exactly where you would wanna stay! room size , cleanliness were great too. Host was amazing and friendly! Heated rooms made stay comfortable

Negative: With no half board (dinner) included the property is on higher price point side for just the room inspite of location.

Positive: Remote location; only reacheable by 4WD. If you do not like heights, do not go there. Rather close to the Balcony Walk (by car). Note: at 2 km altitude; nights will be cold. Airco can be set to heating (you might need it)

Negative: Hotel name at the fence would make it much easier to find!

Positive: We had a very warm welcome from the host and his family. The room was spacious, there was plenty of hot water and the airco worked well the whole night, so we didn’t really feel the cold. The dinner and breakfast were ok-ish.

Negative: We didn’t notice it immediately, maybe because the place is very new and it felt reassuring, but we were surprised to see that the bathroom had not been cleaned before our arrival: apart from limescale buildup that we saw in quite a few other hotels in Oman, there were leftovers of used soap and toiletries around, and even traces (…) in the toilet bowl. Yet, what was the absolute worst, especially for my partner who had to sleep in her polyester bedsheet that she brought along, were the really numerous hairs that we found on the bedsheet once we lifted the duvet. Overall, it was the most disappointing, yet the most expensive nightly stay in Oman.

Positive: This guesthouse is perfect for your venue at Jebel Shams. Located 2km from the beginning of the balcony walk - the place is clean and newly built. What makes this place special is Said and his family hosting you. You'll be welome with nice tea, dattes and a genuine smile from the all family. Said is very arranging and we'll share all the tips you need for your trip. The hospitality of Said and his family made our travel very special as we kept in touch and were able to meet few times. Thanks again Said and your family for sharing these moments with us.

Positive: The host was super kind. He bought a cake for us for the Silvester evening, so lovely. The room was big and we had a heating. The breakfast and dinner was nice aswell. And the location next to the balcony walk is perfect.

Positive: We stayed here with a group and I can say without hesitation that this is one of the most authentic and warm-hearted places we experienced in Oman. The location is exceptional, definitely one of the best in the area for those planning to hike at Jabal Shams. The rooms are spacious, the private bathrooms are adequate, and there is a large shared garden with a barbecue area. The real added value, however, is Said. He is a host of rare availability, humanity, and genuine cooperation. He and his family went out of their way to support our group with great flexibility, care, and a sincere desire to make us feel welcome.

Negative: The only thing to be aware of in advance is that the dining area is outdoor, and there are no dedicated indoor dining spaces. In the mountains, in Winter season, it can get cold.
