Summary: We booked this hotel for an overnight stay before our Amazon Safari pickup the following day. This hotel is in old part of downtown and in a great spot with multiple tourist attractions near by. The hotel serves good lunch and breakfast and the staff is very courteous and friendly. The local municipality closes a street on Sunday for walkers, runners, bikers etc. That is literally a block from the hotel and so I could enjoy a quick morning run there. However, I want to warn you about Mr Armstrong. He is a TOTAL SCAM, do not use his services. He greeted us in a very friendly manner at the hotel gate as he is part of the staff itself. He showed the town around to us and bunch of other sight seeings too for a reasonable price. That was all good. Then he hooked us up with another of his “guy”, Jose Carlos, in Rio. That was a big mistake. He shows fancy picture of Ford F250 Executive Tropivan. Both the driver and van are real, but ina very dilapidated state. Jose speaks good English but his hands shake when driving the big car. He is having difficulty maneuvering the steering wheel. The car shut down at Christ The Redeemer where we had to call several other guys to push the car to get it started. Just a disappointing experience and the feeling of being cheated, The hotel staff should kick him out so that he cannot solicit any other guests coming there. This is the reason I’m downgrading the hotel.

Summary: The service was very good in the rooms were roomy although a little worn and dated. The breakfast was an excellent large spread and they were very accommodating. The opera house is a block away.

Summary: This hotel is dated but with some charm. The first room we got had no windows and smelled like chemicals. The service is excellent, though. They provided us with a better room at the same cost, starting the second night. Their restaurant on the first floor is great. Morning breakfast (free) and afternoon meals (for a fee) are superb. The location is great, too. So, stay here if you are not picky about modern and updated everything. The city is just like this hotel, BUT the river and jungle tours are amazing.

Summary: A fantastic hotel in the heart of Manaus, very close to the Opera House. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and an amazing breakfast buffet! Great value too.

Summary: This hotel was far from luxury, but we felt safe there. The rooms, and common areas were very clean. And, the staff was outstanding!
