For those who appreciate the finest in a rustic, western retreat, imagine staying at a sprawling 200-acre private ranch featuring a custom-built house which comfortably sleeps 12 people. The property features a private creek, fresh water swimming pond with rowboats, hiking trails, stone patio with outdoor grill and fire pit, lighted tennis and basketball court, hot-tub, & volleyball grass court. The property also has 2 donkeys, 2 horses, & 7 goats. The creek running through the property is a 1/2 mile hike from the main house and lovely to swim in in the summer.
The 5700 square foot main house, built by custom woodworkers, has a floor to ceiling family library in the great room with a majestic, stone fireplace and large wood table for group dinners. The main house sleeping accommodations include a 10 bed bunkhouse & a private loft bedroom.
The 600 square cottage with a comfortable queen size bed is adjacent the main house. It has walnut floors, hand plastered walls, tumbled marble, and a large bath with tub. The cottage and the main house are near the swimming pond & hot tub.
Golf, skiing, rafting, hiking, and biking are just a few of the activities accessible by short car trip from the ranch. The property is conveniently close to historic Sierra foothill cities: Nevada City, Auburn, and Grass Valley + the scenic Yuba and American Rivers.
Our caretaker lives on the property in a separate unit away from the main house and is on hand to ensure your stay is great and to answer any questions.

Summary: "I feel like I've entered a magical portal" was the common sentiment shared among our party of 13 women. We gathered to celebrate our dear friend's rite of passage into marriage and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. The fire place, open floor plan, towering ceilings, gorgeous floor-to-ceiling library, cozy and segmented off sleeping quarters and stunning walls and woodwork made for an elegant and dynamic place to gather together. The space held our family-style-dining, playful activities, intentional circle, dancing, reading, crafting so beautifully. The hot tub, zipline into pond set-up, horses/donkey neighbors and riverside trail called us outside to take in the stunning land. Our hosts, Kathleen, Pat and daughter Lucy were so responsive and welcoming, available to answer any questions, while also giving us the space to be in our sweet immersive experience. This is a beautiful place to retreat and connect that I would 100% recommend for families and sentimental gatherings.
