Summary: Hands down this is the most beautiful, most comfortable, most unique property we have ever had the privilege to rent. If and when we return to Taos, there will be no other option for us but to reserve this amazing home. Is it a little bit of a challenge to drive to? Yes - but oh my gosh - it's so worth it. We felt as if we had a mountain to ourselves; surrounded by trees and absolute peace and quiet, we were able to give ourselves and our dogs exercise without leaving the property. The house is beautiful inside and out, has a well-equipped kitchen, a library filled with books, and it's big. Each guest can find some quiet space just for themselves if they so desire. The owners have even thought of the comfort of furry friends. The "mud room" has a comfy dog bed (enjoyed by both of our pups) and toys. We were delighted to be entertained by hummingbirds right outside the kitchen and living room windows. We did not want to leave!

Summary: Casa Kiva was a great getaway. Private and secluded. Quick access to Taos on mostly paved roads. The house was equipped with all you might need - and perfect for our group of 4 adults. Open kitchen to living space and views into the courtyard where we loved seeing the hummingbirds dancing between feeders. Beds were very comfortable. Host was gracious in sharing restaurants in the area - Medley, Aceq, + Apple Love - all wonderful!

Summary: Casa Kiva was an amazing escape from the Texas heat this summer! The property itself is very spacious and inviting, featuring a cozy and comfortable interior. Our kids loved it, and the house is incredibly kid and pet-friendly- we brought along our two dogs! The hot tub was a nice luxury after long days exploring the area. We enjoyed several hikes around the beautiful property! Being close enough to the Ski Valley and town to be able to enjoy restuarants and shopping. Overall, Casa Kiva provided the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Highly recommended for families, pet owners, and anyone looking to enjoy nature in comfort! We will definitley be bacK!

Summary: We absolutely LOVED our stay at Casa Kiva. Both the house and property are beautiful. The house is SO comfortable with a fantastic set up for all the family, including children and dogs. The central courtyard allows for lots of light and activity - grilling, reading in the hammock, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying morning coffee. Town and ski valley are just a short drive away and evening walks around the property provide an amazing view. We can't wait to go back!!!!!!

Summary: Casa Kiva was the perfect house for my group of 14. We get together every year for a big ski trip and this might have been the coolest yet. Some reviews noted the house as being a little dated and the furniture could use an update. I agree, however, the photos in the listing are accurate and I can't knock that! Please note, we did not have snow on the road to the house. If there was decent snow, they're not joking, 4WD would be a must.

Summary: We loved this home and found it perfect for our group. It was so well equipped with plenty of room for everyone in the family and just the right amount of privacy. Another reviewer called this home tired but we call it loved and enjoyed. Everything was comfortable, spacious and warm. A warning to anyone coming in a rainy or icy season....the need for a very heavy front wheel drive care or a vehicle with a fourwheel drive should be taken seriously. The privacy afforded by this beautiful location comes with some travel on dirt roads that must be navigated with a bit of care! Don't let that deter you though, it is worth it for the slower pace and beautiful outdoor location. PS. Don't forget to go out at night and take in the sky! THE STARS!

Summary: 4WD is not enough to get up and down the long private road to the house and almost ruined our ski trip. Snow tires and tire chains are also needed. We got stuck multiple times with 4WD and the owner should’ve let us know more about that road especially since it’s on the edge of a mountain and pretty dangerous. Our group of 11 of us lost an entire ski day that we had prepaid due to driving issues that could have been avoided. (There’s not Uber or Lyft to the house). Also, heat does not go above 57 degrees in the house so you have to use space heaters in every room/living areas. No bathrooms in the main area either, only 3 in the bedrooms. Hot tub worked great and there were lots of extra blankets, towels, kitchen dishes / utinsils, etc which was nice. They did not allow late check out but they did complete cleaning an hour earlier than check in so we got in a little earlier than anticipated.

Summary: Property is in a beautiful setting and private. The driveway is about 1/4 mile long off dirt road. The property is somewhat tired but works if you have lots of people and travel with dogs. The courtyard allows pets to be outside and contained. The main issue with our stay was there was no heat (except for electric heaters in rooms) or hot water when we arrived. The home uses an on-demand hot water heater for floor heating and it was not working. The original installer came on Thanksgiving and repaired heater but with the time required to heat the floor the temperature in the house never got above 63 degrees during our stay. We have been promised a partial refund by Vacasa. We will see if that happens.

Summary: The place was a jewel in the woods. Very well Planned layouts. We celebrated college reunion of three families. Kids had a blast!! Home was fully stocked and equipped with everything you need from kitchen supplies to toiletries. Getting there can be difficult especially at night with no cell phone coverage or internet. Make sure you have proper directions from the management company. Thanks for letting us stay!!
