Positive: We had an incredible stay in one of the three houses on this beautiful property — the one we stayed in had so much charm, with original 1970s bathrooms and a real sense of character. The main house on the grounds is the former home of the Knight of Kerry, now looked after by Jessica, who we had the pleasure of meeting during our visit. The whole setting felt incredibly special. The property was originally a mill that the Knight of Kerry converted into a manor purely for its stunning location. The surrounding gardens are filled with rare plants he brought in from all over the world — even as far as New Zealand. They’re a bit overgrown now, but still full of beauty and atmosphere. The landscape is lush, almost tropical, and there’s a stone beach just below the house that the kids absolutely loved. Every time I visit Valentia, I learn something new — the island’s history is just extraordinary. This was a truly magical place to stay — peaceful, rich in history, and a great experience for the whole family. We’d love to return again, maybe to stay in the main house next time.

Positive: Super tranquil location, in a house with everything you could need. Short walk to the beach, clear calm water, the dogs had a wonderful time. Hosts were attentive but not in your face. Very relaxing. House was spotless, with plenty of space.

Negative: 1 bed was a bit squeaky.

Positive: Comfortable and clean house. Everything was perfect and working properly. The hosts are kind and always smiling. They supported us with tips of what we could do in the island. We were in three families, with 11 people in total, counting adults and kids, and everyone had a comfortable and nice stay. The beach is 6 minutes of walking and it is a beautiful beach. the kids loved. Definitely we will be back, and I highly recommend.
