Positive: We loved the quirkiness and the history of the house. The kitchen was ideal, especially with the speakers. The beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect.

Negative: It would be helpful if the team checked things like batteries for tv remotes and changed the batteries in smoke alarms (beeping). May be we were unlucky. Not that it affected the enjoyment of our stay. We had a great time.

Positive: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old house. Plenty of room for us all and nicely decorated throughout. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and house heats up quickly. Nice to have a view of the sea and a real fire. There were enough logs left for four fires and the owner had very kindly left us some welcome goodies. We enjoyed being able to walk down to the beach and mooching around the shops in St Leonard's. We also had a delicious Sunday lunch at Farmyard and pizzas from Fortes. A good base from.which to discover the area and a handy train station for those arriving by public transport. Everybody enjoyed using the cinema room and the Wifi connection was good throughout the whole house.

Positive: The location is really convenient for local shops, restaurants and pubs; and a 20 minute walk along the coast will get you to the pier and other amusements in Hastings. There is also a bus that stops close to the house which was ideal after long days out. The house is well stocked for home cooking, if you need it, and plenty of entertainment options such as the cinema room loaded with DVDs, plenty of toys for the kids, and social areas between the kitchen, garden and living room. The hosts were easy to reach and really helpful throughout our stay, and ensured a nice welcome upon arrival.

Summary: Cosy and comfortable house for a big family holiday.

Positive: The house is really close to the seafront and all the amenities in St Leonards. We were a 20 minute walk from Hastings, and the bus service is very regular. The house is amazing, really well presented and laid out, as are the facilities. The owners and housekeeper were in regular contact and went above and beyond. All in all a great place. We would happily return.

Negative: Nothing about the house or it's facilities gave us any issues. It is an old building, so expect stairs and doors with "Character"
