House of Craigie is a beautiful relaxed mansion with an indoor heated swimming pool in private grounds and courtyard cottages which are rented individually for couples or single travellers and can be added to a booking for the main house for extra guests.
The main house with 8 bedrooms will be allocated for guest numbers up to 18, including 2 temporary beds although cottages can be added as requested. Cottages will be used where guest numbers are 4 and below.
This large country house is perfect large group accommodation with swimming pool. The main house sleeps 18, the 8 large bedrooms comfortably sleep 16 adults with space for 2 extra child beds, 4 huge public rooms with cosy log fires (2 sitting rooms, dining room, games/ceilidh/library room), 4 oven AGA great for large groups, the games/ceilidh/library has table tennis, books and games, the swimming pool has key pad access.
Our pet policy is that one dog is allowed but only in one cottage - strictly not in main house - if bringing a family pet a cottage must be booked in addition. Exercise is allowed in the garden and in the 5 acre paddock belonging to the House.

Summary: Our stay was marvelous and the House met all our expectations! We were a huge family reunion, three generations, and 19 adults, plus kids. The setting was beautiful, and Karen and Scott, the managers, were so helpful. We enjoyed talking to them and hearing the stories about the place. They had many good suggestions for us for things to do and places to visit and places to eat. It was a dream house and a dream family get-together in a lovely, lovely restored house and cottages. Many amenities.

Summary: This place has everything. Friendly welcome, lovely swimming pool indoors which was a great hit with the children particularly. Beautiful gardens where you could sit in peace (if you were lucky!) and a tennis court which was perfect for some of the older enthusiasts. In a quiet location and well stocked. The only caveat was from a catering point of view my daughter in law found it difficult to find enough big dishes to serve up a big meal for 20 but she coped! Definitely recommend

Summary: We rented this house as a base for our wedding party. Karen and her family are so friendly and made sure we were so well looked after during our stay at House of Craigie. They were ready to greet us and check us in when we arrived and couldn’t be more helpful. They were on hand for anything we needed. The property is beautiful - decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean. Perfect for large family trips. Karen and her family went beyond what was required of them as hosts and really added to our wedding weekend.

Summary: We recently stayed here as part of a weekend get together with old friends. Karen greeted us upon arrival and already had the heating running so the house was warm for our guests arriving later that evening. The house is perfect for entertaining, the kitchen and living spaces are perfect for large get togethers, but there are plenty of other rooms should guests wish to breakout into quieter spaces. The pool and games room were a huge hit with our group of friends and an extra bonus in terms of the property, as this was one of our requirements when booking. The house was spotless, fresh towels and linen were left out and all basic amenities were stocked upon arrival. On day of checkout Karen came to ask us how our stay was which I thought was a nice touch. Would highly recommend, both for beautiful house and surroundings and for friendly hosts. Looking forward to returning in the not so distant future!

Summary: We arrived at our Scottish house on Friday afternoon, Karen the owner greeted us with a smile and was happy to answer any questions. She had already recommended a chef (Philippe Wine & Dine - would highly recommend) for our Saturday night dinner which we had booked. The main house sleeps 16 people comfortably plus cottages which accommodate more. Downstairs provides a first living room with an open fire which is perfect for a reception in the evening. Past the front door is the kitchen with aga and off the kitchen is a dining room able to seat 20 people but very comfortable for our 14 guests. Beyond this area is a larger living room with another open fire this is perfect for a games night or wine and cheese evening. Opening the door off this living room leads you to a games room with ping pong ball table. The final section is the fabulous pool with a beautifully warm floor. Upstairs has two levels of rooms, nice and warm with comfy beds. It's a perfect escape for any celebration and the owners are warm and friendly. This was our second time staying at the house and we will definitely be back!

Summary: Having booked House of Craigie last September for a 60th birthday celebration that took place last weekend, I was quite honestly horrified to read a review on this website regarding the aggressive attitude of the owners. What a load of nonsense that turned out to be! The owners of House of Craigie, Karen and Scott, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The house is stunning, beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. The glorious views and sunny skies simply enhanced our enjoyment of the property. We have a bagpiper booked during the weekend, also a magician and, most wonderful of all, a fabulous chef, Philippe - recommended by Karen. I was in touch in Karen several times in the run up to our weekend and she was always so helpful and patient. Karen and Scott's son, James, was so lovely taking group photos for us and Karen even had 3 of them framed for us to take home. They are a warm and genuine family that own and run House of Craigie, you will not be disappointed if you chose to stay here.

Summary: Rarely do our family all have time for a break together so our time at Craigie was special and made memorable by the beautiful house, wonderful views and Karen and Scott the welcoming owners who made sure we didn't miss any local highlights, Culzean Castle and its grounds are special indeed! Young and old enjoyed the spacious sitting rooms in the house, the "oldies" relaxed in the plush drawing room while the rest watched TV or played table tennis in the games room. The girls so enjoyed having "spa" time in the lovely indoor pool. The property was spotlessly clean with beautiful furnishings. It was a real privilege to enjoy this comfortable family home. Highly recommended - hopefully we will have a return holiday in the near future.

Summary: Our stay was made quite uncomfortable after being on the receiving end of the male owners aggression on the second day of our visit. The couple who own the property live in one of the cottages next door and keep a very close eye on your visit and will make it very clear if they are not happy with noise levels etc. Even locking a door providing quick access to the cottages because the noise was disturbing the owners office work. He was also very angry at the noise of the children in the courtyard and made it clear how annoyed he was having to lock his tool sheds because of them, which I would assume should be secure anyway. Alarm bells should have round when on arriving we were told of the bad behaviour of other guests including the children of a QC visiting recently and the reps from Rolex.

Summary: The perfect house. Absolutely stunning property with really tastefully decorated & comfortable period rooms inside plus lots of modern equipment, games rooms & pool etc. Also the hosts are incredibly friendly and easy going. The attached cottages are of the same level as the house too, if not higher.
