Summary: Very disappointing stay and absolutely not worth the price. From the moment we arrived, Scandic CH Gävle felt worn, outdated, and poorly maintained. The accessible/PWD elevator was out of order, meaning heavy luggage had to be carried up steps, and the elevator area itself looked old and neglected. The room was acceptable, but it was oddly prepared for two guests, with only one visible duvet and two pillows. We had to contact reception just to learn the rest was hidden in a chest, which felt unnecessarily inconvenient. The gym/spa floor was the low point: one of two elevators was out of service, the area was dark with no clear signs, and the gym was small, windowless, poorly equipped, and even had cracked flooring. Breakfast was okay, but overall this stay felt like a waste of money. I would not return unless prices were significantly lower or the property was properly updated.

Summary: A lovely hotel with friendly staff, it was a real pleasure to stay at the Scandic CH. Check-in was easy and quick. My room was clean and spacious and had everything I needed. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. The added bonus of the gym on the top floor was handy. I had a nice time at this hotel and would recommend.
