This is a rare place — deeply authentic — where you immediately feel welcomed, not as a guest passing through, but as someone genuinely cared for. The lodge itself is beautiful, thoughtfully integrated into its natural surroundings, peaceful, warm, and effortlessly elegant. Every detail reflects care, intention, and respect for the place. What truly makes Sangany Lodge exceptional, however, is Yvonne, the owner. Her generosity, presence, and deep knowledge of the area give the lodge its soul. She can also seamlessly organize any type of excursion or adventure you might want — whether it’s a boat trip, quad biking, hiking, snorkeling with turtles, or even arranging a sunset cocktail on a deserted island — all done with authenticity and excellent judgment. These days remain among my most meaningful travel memories — a genuinely restorative, human, and memorable experience. If you’re looking for more than just accommodation, but for a true connection to the destination, Sangany Lodge is an outstanding choice. I would return without hesitation.

Negative: The loud music from the local village for two nights but it was Christmas so I'm sure an exception.

Excellent service, meticulous attention to detail, the eco-friendly interior and garden, created through Yvonne's exceptional sensibility and talent. Thank you to Mina and the wonderful team for their quiet yet thoughtful care of travelers. We arrived exhausted from suffering from enteritis due to the Madagascar water and food, and we extend our deepest gratitude to Yvonne, the Nosy Be alchemist, who cured us in just one day with her magical tea and her medicine. This was not just a place to stay, but a truly special place where weary city travelers could heal their bodies and minds. Thank you, Yvonne! Positive: The view from our tree house. Breakfast served on the private terrace overlooking the sea. And all the staff is so friendly and kind!

Negative: The quality of the food served is excellent, but the menu is heavy on seafood. If you are with kids/people who do not like seafood too much, the options are a little bit limited.

Positive: Sangany Lodge is a real paradise. The chalets are wonderful, well kept, super clean (cleaned twice daily, quite amazing). We got a very abundant breakfast served by the sea in front of our room with croissants, bread, coffee, fresh fruit, eggs, freshly pressed juice etc. The restaurant is nice and we always had nice fresh fish or Zebu. Internet connection is very good, if you need it. The garden is beautifully kept by gardners, and you will be able to enjoy ibiscus, frangipani, and many other beautiful flowers. The staff (from the owner Yvonne, to Loris, Mina, Sylviane, Martine...) are incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Yvonne helped us organising trips around Nosy Be. They lent ud snorkles and respirators to swim and look at the amazing coral reef. We also had a great massage by the sea. We hope to go back here at some point. absolutely fantastic.

Negative: Be prepared to some bumpy roads to get in and out of the property. This is quite normal in Madagascar so don't let this put you off. 15 minutes of bumps on tuktuks or car are quite ok.
