Positive: The breakfast was average and Bangkok prices at 400 bhat pp. We were surprised it was not included in the price of the room but to be honest this could be a Booking.Com issue and not the first issue we've encountered using Booking.Com while staying at Koh Samed.

Negative: The room was great and the location was good but the food was poor. However there are other resorts just a short while away with better food which are easy to get to.

Summary: Koh Samed is lovely, relaxing break from Bangkok.

Positive: The bungalow room was very cosy and felt nice and private. We loved the outdoor patio in front of our room where I could do yoga every day. The beach was fairly quiet, very clean, and there was a good selection of a few restaurants (thai, pizza, international restaurant at the hotel). The breakfast was always well provided and staffed with a cook for special eggs. The walk from our bungalow to the beach was less than 2 mins !

Negative: We stayed for a while (over 10 nights) so noticed a few things missing for longer term travellers ! Maybe a few more towel hangers or knobs, and a little extra space in the room.

Positive: Modern and quiet Beautiful beach with the clear sea water Staffs are nice

Negative: Big minus for the communication Hotel didn’t inform us that we need to take a car ride from the port to the hotel by ourselves. We thought the boat will take us straight to the beachfront of the hotel. Also, on the way back. The boat departure at 1 p.m. that supposed to pick us up had been offered to the private group tour. They sent another boat for us which was late for half an hour. The boat engine was overheated and stopped in the middle of the sea. Eventually, it worked again and we are safe back on the main land. It parked at the different pier in Ban Phae though. We expected that someone will wait for us, but no. We were waiting for 15 minutes until we decided to call the hotel for further information. After another 10 minutes, they sent the van to pick us up. I wonder if I wouldn’t call, will they make an effort to follow up their mess? This last part of the journey was quite disappointing. They need to better train their staffs to be more efficient. Also, time is essential for many people. With half an hour or an hour late, people can miss their flight. In my case, they could rather negotiate with the private tour to accommodate me and my mom, just the two of us from the same hotel. The boat wasn’t full either, and we’ve already paid for the ride.

Positive: It is quite private beach. Beautiful beach. The room is clean and new.

Negative: The reception staff is seem not professional or they are new. It is a bit slow but it is okay. However , the crew staff , the one who alway carry the customer’s bag is so professional , polite and goos service mind.
