Summary: We were told prior to arrival that the lift was out of order. I explained that my husband had recently undergone hip surgery and couldn't manage too many stairs. We were promised assistance with luggage and allocated a room close to reception. When we arrived, we were met by a receptionist who barely understood English and were allocated a room furthest away from reception. There was no assistance with luggage. The room was extremely small and the ensuite was inadequate for someone using a walking frame. The latter could benefit from a good scrub. Mould around the edges of the bath and shower curtain could do with replacement. The curtains on one side were frayed and there is no USB port to charge a phone. This is standard in most hotels these days. We didn't have breakfast. The bar staff were very friendly and professional which can't be said about the receptionist.

Summary: The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The hotel is a little tired but clean, the shower was good and the bed very comfortable. Ideal central location for exploring the city, everything withing walking distance.

Summary: Lovely breakfast plenty on offer . Lovely large bedroom and bathroom - very clean and tidy but don’t expect a view. Hotel does not have a car park but there is plenty public car parking nearby that doesn’t charge between 6pm & 8am

Summary: Good location for central Perth in Scotland’s oldest hotel which since 1699 has grown a bit like topsey. It gives character but can be a bit of a maze to get around
