Positive: The hotel is quite amazing. The decor is stunning, and one keeps finding another treasure around each corner. The position is magical overlooking the sea. The staff were all fantastic but a special thanks to Mina who took care of us. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Essaouira is well worth a visit if travelling to Morocco and Salut Maroc is the place to stay.

Positive: The setting is fabulous the views are amazing. The riad is very quirky lovely building.

Negative: The room was smaller than I expected. When we arrived, there was building work in progress, which went on for several hours. We had dinner booked for 7pm, when we arrived for dinner, we were asked to wait until 8 pm as the kitchen was closed earlier due to the building work.

Positive: We had an unforgettable stay at Salut Maroc. The hotel’s design is absolutely stunning—vibrant, artistic, and full of character. Every corner feels curated with flair and soul. What truly made our experience exceptional was Mina from Guest Relations. She was incredible—helping us with transfers, sharing local tips, and offering thoughtful guidance throughout our stay. Her personal touch and genuine care made us feel completely looked after. The rest of the staff were just as fantastic—friendly, professional, and always ready to help. From the rooftop views to the cozy rooms, everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and luxurious escape in Essaouira.

Positive: The location is amazing right in the heart of the medina and next to the ramparts adjacent to the ocean. The roof top terrace was stunning, the service was always very good and friendly and the breakfast was very delicious. The hammam at the hotel was a nice, authentic experience and recommended. The riad style building and room design is beautiful and very Instagramable! Our host/guest relations Mina was wonderful. Super friendly and kind, super attentive, helpful and efficient and helped us with everything we needed - there was nothing that was too much trouble!

Negative: We had the family room which was stunning but it isn't 49m2 as described on Booking.com but more like 30m2. It wasn't the most comfortable or convenient/practical family room we had in Essaouira but appreciate that style probably trumps comfort is this type of design-led conversion! We had a disappointing meal in the rooftop restaurant sending all the hot dishes back as it was cold and undercooked (as did the table sitting next to us) to be re-heated/cooked so that rather spoiled the otherwise nice evening of dramatic sunset and great live music! It was very busy and felt like the kitchen was perhaps overwhelmed or struggling to cope to produce everything to standard. Felt that quality was sacrificed for view / style!

Positive: The rooms are an incredible explosion of color - you can’t help but smile when you walk into your Instagram-worthy room! Every detail was thought out from the bathroom amenities to the robes to the detail in every nook of the room. Breakfast was delicious and extensive allowing us to sample all the typical Moroccan delicacies. Coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice was a real treat. The setting for breakfast was incredible at the rooftop overlooking the ocean. The staff, especially Mina, made the stay exceptional with her attention to detail. She was warm and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and attended to all our needs.

Negative: If you are sensitive to noise, just know you are in the heart of the city and can experience the noises of the life happening on the street. We had no issues with the liveliness around us.

Summary: Our stay at Salut Marco was incredible from the minute we got there until we left.
