Positive: I stayed in Japanese futon room- it was very nice and comfortable -Love the interior! The restaurant is located next to the Japanese garden courtyard, nice view for dinner and breakfast. It has an outdoor and indoor Onsen to relax. The reception lady very helpful& informative.

Negative: Morning Onsen was not hot enough when it switch. The staff did informed me. Otherwise everything else was great!

Summary: Relaxed, feed, enjoyable stay! I would come and stay again!

Positive: Absolutely beautiful, clean and spacious. I came to Nikko as a day trip from Tokyo but I didn’t plan my trains well and had to find a place to stay overnight on short notice. The room was huge, and had multiple areas to sit and relax which i absolutely loved, especially after being cramped up in Tokyo all week. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Despite me not planning an overnight stay I was incredibly comfortable. They had everything, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, face lotion, hair masks, you name it. They had more beauty products then I normally carry with me, it was incredible. The staff informed me that I was able to use the public bath even tho I have tattoos. The bath was peaceful and serene, and it was so quiet there was no one bathing at the same time as me so i had the whole bath to myself. I loved the open air bath, especially on a chilly night, it was refreshing! my whole stay was easy and enjoyable. The staff were friendly and polite. Next time I visit Japan, I will come back here and stay for longer. And he train station is within walking distance! I didn’t get try the food because i was in a rush to get back, but I saw people eating and it looked divine. This place was such a hidden gem, I wish I could’ve stayed instead of going back to Tokyo.

Positive: Very spacious and comfortable traditional style room, clear communications with the hotel. Location is alright, just look at the map and not at the name. Absolutely lovely and helpful staff.

Negative: The hotel is not new, and it starts to show.

Positive: Great hotel to relax out of the tourist venues. The hot tub were really nice and the bedroom great and roomy. Beautiful decor and the food was just exceptional!

Negative: We had difficulty getting the food because the staff said they had to prepare 2 or 3 days in advance, even though they sent us a message just after booking if we wanted food and we replied yes. It's not in Nikki were all the sites and temples are. It's really out of the way and complicated to get the trains to Nikki. We managed, but it was a little struggle and time consuming to go visit Nikki and the tourists sites, which are really worth it. Make sure you have cash with you, because the only ATM in the village never works.

Positive: Hotel decoration as feeling home, it is very nice hotel and onsen is very private as less peoples at time of my stay. Unfortunately, hotel cannot provide us breakfast/dinner during our stay of 2 nights. Otherwise, all are perfect.

Negative: No breakfast/dinner can be accomodated during our 2 nights stay.

Positive: Very quiet in a forest setting. Nice. Staff. Outside Onsen very cool.

Negative: Really far from everything. Which would be okay but despite being there at the correct time we couldn't get breakfast or dinner reserved which would also be okay but there is nothing open nearby for food for breakfast until 10 am. And that is a problem when you are visiting and have a scheduled day of things you would like to do. The place needs to add a couple of staff to be able to provide a few meals.

Summary: Some nice features but no meals available despite following their system to request.
