Summary: For those who want a stay in a lovely property with all facilities and an excellent host (Isabelle) then this is it. The town of St Valery sur Somme has history, fascinating wildlife on the salt marshes as well, as you would expect, in a French town excellent restaurants. Thoroughly recommended

Summary: The lovely house has everything one needs for a great holiday. The kitchen and bathroom were very well planned and equipped. The beds were most comfortable and the bedding was top quality. Isabel, the host. Made us very welcome; she gave us clear information and good ideas. The terrace/garden was a joy to use and we parked our bikes there. Parking behind the house wad plentiful. The location was perfect: two boulongeries within 50 metres!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in Saint Valery, the area is very beautiful. The house is comfortable and complete and the owners are very frienldly and gave us good tips for trips and nice restaurants.

Summary: Exactly as it appears in the pictures. Comfortable and welcoming and a great location only a few minutes walk from the river and the centre of town and a boulangerie just around the corner. We loved it and will be returning.

Summary: This delightfully appointed and decorated house has all that you need for a stay in St Valery being situated just a short walk from the Banks of the Somme and glorious views across the Bay. A steam engine ride to Le Crotoy is a must and you are spoilt for choice for places to eat in both towns. The house is situated on the edge of the medieval part of St Valery which is again well worth exploring. For our part we took bicycles and cycled around some of the several well marked cycle routes normally along quiet roads or purpose built cycle ways. If you don’t have a bike there are several places that hire them out. All in all we had a glorious week with above average temperatures for the time of year.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks here, the first Australians to do so! Its just as lovely as the photos on the site. Our hosts, Marie and Isabelle, were wonderful and made us feel very welcome despite our clumsy school days French. Boulangerie/patisserie 15 second walk away highly recommended. St Valerie sur Somme is a great location for day trips. Arques is a must to visit the Crystal d'Arques factory outlet. The Claude Monet house and gardens is a doable day trip to Giverney and highly recommended. This beaufully renovated fishermans cottage is well equiped and comfortable and suitable for long and short stays. The spiral stairs to access the upper level might not suit the less agile. As is the case with this and the previous 4 gites we have stayed at in France, there is no proper way of drying clothes ie no clothes dryer or clothes line. There is a portable rack for drying clothes but something more suitable would have suited us better, but we are in France. How do the French dry their sheets and other big washing items? TV is French channels only. The Sunday market along the river front is a must do, its big. Also check out the medieval part of the town. The free parking permit provided is a bonus. There appears to be no free parking anywhere. Lots of nice cafes and other shops in the town. The Carrefour in St V. was our local supermarket. Hyper U in Abbeville our pick for a big grocery shop. Highly recommended place to stay.

Summary: We loved our stay in St-Valery it’s such a great place to visit. The property was just as it looks in the pictures and our hosts were so helpful, welcoming and communication was easy, even though our French is not good we laughed our way through in French and English with Marie. Loved the little outside space and the fact the bakery was next door!! Easy walk into town about 5 mins, loved walking along the bay and seeing all the wildlife...we even saw seals from the beach. The train ride around the bay is a must and we even found a wonderful playground for the children (turn left on the pedestrian walk by the river) it about a 5/10 minute walk from there. We had a beautiful week it even got to 30 degrees one day, we were lucky with that but even on the rainy day we found activities to do. There’s a small supermarket nearby for basic things and a bigger supermarket just on the edge of town. Car parking was easy with the ticket that was provided. Would love to come back one day as we had such a special week.
