Positive: A spacious, high, bright hall with air-conditioning in the house, a very good sauna with firewood on the shore, a boat at the disposal of guests, a lot of different equipment on the sports ground, devices for grilling on gas and for grilling on charcoal or wood

Negative: Only two of the four bedrooms had mosquito nets on the windows; triangular windows open directly above one of the beds, which is very inconvenient; the toilets had extremely small sinks and there was no soap in the dispensers; there was only two champagne glasses for eight guests, the grass and bushes in front of the terrace should be trimmed so that the lake can be seen.

Summary: a good place to have a short rest in a good company

Positive: The location is amazing - remote place right next to lake. Great views. The house was inside the forest 50 meters from lakeshore. The house was large, with fireplace. We booked the house with separate sauna building and hot tube - excellent for good calm days. If we would not have the issue with payments + cleanness would be a bit better, then it would be a 10 review.

Negative: 1) They accept payment only by wire transfer to their company account. We booked on a last minute so we had difficulties with this since we made the payment immediately but it took a day to arrive so owners asked us for cash saying that there have been several fraudsters... That required me to go to Imatra (30km) to take cash... They should then write on Booking.com that payment is possible ONLY with wire transfer. 2) Apparently this place has been affected by COVID19 period and current Russian sanctions since it's a place predominantly booked by Russians (all owners and service personnel are Russians as well). Seems this place lacks a bit of money since playgrounds look a bit like from THE LAST OF US, the blankets in the houses should be changed as they are worn off....

Positive: The location it's amazing and the extras like the hot tub and the small boat were amazing. The kitchen is rather equipped.

Negative: It maybe a cultural thing but somehow it was hard to sleep because there was a lot of light in the rooms. We are more used to sleep with a total dark. Maybe with some other curtains it would be better.

Positive: Location on Lake Saimaa beautiful. We were in the wilderness like we had hoped. Such a fun drive down the “driveway” to the house which in itself was 5km. We were originally booked in cottage c, but upgraded to cottage e which was very private. This cottage had an indoor electric sauna within the shower room/laundry. It also came with a separate building that had a wood fired larger sauna, sitting room and an outdoor wood fired hot tub on the decking area (I understand in cottage c and d you share the outside sauna building). Loved feeding the fires to heat the outdoor hot tub and separate sauna. Never met staff because everything was perfect, but was lovely dealing with Olga over WhatsApp before and during our stay if we had any questions. The house is well equipped with great sized rooms. It would be lovely in winter with the wood fire burning. But the most magical thing is the scenery of the lake and the surrounding woods. The house is literally dropped into nature. We loved having the little row boat throughout our stay. We were unprepared for the insects and our family got covered in 100s of mosquito bites our first night. This was just a lack of research on our part, but I would come prepared next time with all the gadgets to ward off mosquitos etc next time! We had some great adventures around the Lake Saimaa/ Imatra/ Karelia area.

Negative: Lake Saimaa is perfect. We don’t want to take away from the location and house at all. The only improvements that could be made would perhaps be some air conditioning or fans in the bedrooms as it was really hot at night and you can’t open windows because of the mosquitos (the net on window had a hole). There are two a/c units in the living room and stairs. The communal sports area is really well equipped with playground, volleyball court, tennis court and table tennis, but ball games are currently unplayable because it is so over grown. It just needs restored and it will be great to use.

Summary: Perfect wilderness, lake, forest and luxurious accommodation.
