Positive: Location is fantastic, balcony looks straight out over Bathurst Mt Panorama racetrack.

Negative: Checked into our room and it was an absolute sauna. Large glass windows and door to room balcony faces west and blinds were wide open, with the hot afternoon sun beaming through. Air con was not on (and was pretty crap a/c unit anyway), so room took a couple of hours to cool down. Everything in room was only average, everything was a bit dated, it seems like Rydges know they are the only rooms at the location so they don't care.

Positive: The room was a spa room, nice and big. The bed was comfortable. Parking was easy and convenient. The view over Mt Panorama was very nice both in the evening and in the morning.

Negative: The service was slow in the restaurant. The buffet breakfast was not well serviced. There were no jams for the toast, only worchester sauce? ketchup? and barbeque sauce? It was quite odd. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and the bacon cold. The bed linen was clean but the shower was a bit grimy. The room lighting left a bit to be desired. It would have been nice to have one or two standing lamps to improve the ambiance. The stark ceiling lighting was depressing at night. Nobody answered room service calls (we tried numerous times) nor was the front desk attended at check out at 6:15 AM. I had to wait 15 minutes which is a long time when you want to leave early for a long car trip.
