Summary: we had a fantastic weekend. Communication with the hosts was excellent. they were very honest about the house’s shortcomings (only one shower, not on-demand hot water) as we were are large group. The cottage is really charming, with two comfortable bedrooms downstairs. Upstairs is really one large space with rooms feeding off each other, with no doors. We were a group of good friends and this was no problem for us. The garden is long and narrow, (more of a path) with an open area at the end, which is slightly too far to choose to eat in the garden, to let small children play there unattended, but there is an covered area at the back of the house with seating where we had a bbq. The highlight of the house is the living area. Eating and seating area split into 2 by a HUGE fire, which was so amazing and we enjoyed fully. Kitchen is small but well equipped. The house has its own spirit and personality, which we loved, but it could have been cleaner, but we didn’t let that bother us. Would we go back? Definitely!!

Summary: Quirky property with two good bedrooms downstairs and lots of beds upstairs in a partitioned walk through attic space accessed by a very steep stair. Great downstairs lounge and dining area divided by a large open fireplace with lots of wood supplied. Only one bathroom and toilet so could be a problem with large parties. If you are looking for a tidy, organised living space this is not for you. If you have mobility problems then again not for you. For a group of friends who enjoy each other’s company great.

Summary: A group of us stayed here to bring in the new year and couldn't have been happier about it! The house is amazing; quirky, cool and perfect for a group of mates. It was great to get away from London and the journey felt like nothing, a short hop from Dover to Calais and then a 90 minute or so drive (via a hypermache for the important provisions of vin and fromage) to the house. I Jinny was fantastic, from advising on restaurants to patiently explaining the heating system numerous times to a group of tipsy revellers. We couldn't have had a better time and have already booked in again for this new year - vive la crecy!

Summary: Me and 9 friends recently stayed in this wonderfully preserved rustic home. Upon arrival it felt as though we had been dropped into a scene from a fairy tale; the house bursts with colour from flowers seemingly growing out from the bricks. Inside, the vibrant Mexican room was the ideal spot to relax over breakfast and the spacious front room come dining area, separated by the raised wood fire, was a perfect place for unwinding in the evening. What made the house particularly special was the character and individuality it gains from the photographs, books and ornaments that the owners have clearly spent time and care choosing and collecting. There was more than enough room for all of us, with four cosy double rooms and plenty of other futons/sofa beds dotted around the place. The hosts, who were there to meet us on arrival, gave us extensive, helpful advice on the surrounding area and we never found ourselves at a loose end. The house is located in Crecy en Ponthieu, a charming, cheerful little town, content to run at a relaxed, slow pace. It was only a five minute journey from a picturesque forest walk; a twenty minute journey from the beach (with warmish water!); twenty-five from the coastal town Saint-Valery, which offered mini golf followed by mussels and chips. It was a wonderful trip, where our daily lives were forgotten; there was no pining for technology, television or social media. Needless to say, we will certainly be coming back!

Summary: I was completely bowled over by our stay in the house for what was an un-forgettable holiday. The house itself is full of character and rustic quirks. Whether it's relaxing in the Mexican room, sitting around the open fire or sun bathing in the orchard. The house has it all. The hosts were more than helpful. Even recommending things to do in the local area. One recommendation in particular, was a fantastic and reasonably priced Michelin star restaurant, 'La Cle des Champs". First class wining and dining for 30 to 40 euros a head. Top stuff! We'll definitely be booking a return stay.
