The holiday house AMALIA lies directly above the nice sandy dune beach of Pyrgi, on the western coast of Peloponnese, approx. 15km northwest of the city Pyrgos and 12km north of the picturesque port Katakolo. Directly at the beach, where once stood the simple fisherman´s cottages of the people of Aghios Ilias, today you find many holiday houses, but also a few modest fisherman´s houses still in good condition.
The holiday house AMALIA is in a slight hillside location, in a row with other summer houses directly at the seashore and the dune beach. The holiday house is simply and practically furnished, providing a modest living comfort, a beautiful view across the Ionian Sea, fantastic beach and bathing conditions and magnificent sunsets. The wonderful sandy beach is close to the house (40mtr), gently sloping into the sea and therefore especially suitable for families with children.
The rustic holiday house AMALIA has a small, well-maintained garden with lawn and a beautiful roofed terrace. Entry to the house is on ground level via the terrace, two steps up from the garden. Adjoining to the living room is the open kitchenette separated by a counter. From the living room you can directly access the roofed terrace and the garden. The living room is leading to the bedrooms with the shared bathroom.
Sunbeds and parasols are available at the fine sandy beach right in front of your holiday house. About 150 mtr away there is a kite school that offers watersports.

Summary: Wir sind positiv überrascht worden, das Meer direkt vor der Tür und der Strand war auch ziemlich lang, somit konnte man auch ungestört schwimmen gehen. Der Bademeister war auch vor Ort und die Koureta Schildkröten haben den Strand auch besucht. Ein bisschen Urlaub wie die Einheimischen machen ist uns sehr wichtig. Der Bäcker kam auch jeden Morgen außer Sonntag, ansonsten kann man auch ein bisschen außerhalb Einkäufe erledigen.

Summary: Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage mit Blick aufs Meer. Es ist alles sehr sauber und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Sehr nette Gastgeber und nette Nachbarschaft. Strand ist keine 50m entfernt und das glasklare Wasser lädt auch noch im Oktober zum Baden ein. Olympia und verschiedene Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in ca. 45 Minuten erreichbar.

Summary: Wir wurden sehr nett von den gastgebern empfangen. Es wurde uns alles was wir brauchten gut erklärt. Die Eigentümer sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden auch mit frischen Eiern versorgt ;o) Obwohl es meistens über 30Grad war und wir hitzeempfindlich sind, haben wir keine Klimaanlage vermisst. das Meeres hat stets eine frische Brise zur wunderschlnen großen Terasse wehen lassen. Am Strand wird bewirtet. Nicht weit vom haus gibt es auch gute Tavernen bei denen man gemütlich lecker essen kann. Erholsame ruhige Nächte sind hier selbstverstöndlich. Jederzeit gerne wieder Vielen herzlichen Dank

Summary: Wir verbrachten eine wundervolle Zeit im Haus Amalia vom 1.-17. September 2021, nicht zu heiss, aber doch sommerlich warm, das Meer noch wunderbar warm zum Schwimmen und sehr sauber, den Strand hat man praktisch für sich alleine, der Sandstrand auf beide Seiten begehbar für Spaziergänge, rechter Seite kommt man zu einem griechischen Strandcafe, und links kommt man zu einer Hotelanlage, jedoch in genügend grosser Entfernung, ca. 200 m, wo es auch Restaurants und Cafe gibt. Zum Schwimmen kann man weit rauslaufen, immer auf Sand, und dann parallel dem Strand entlang schwimmen, wunderbar. Wir haben andere Strände gesehen, wo das Wasser nicht so sauber war , bei Häfen, und dort auch Quallen gesehen. Am Strand von Pirgi sahen wir keine einzige. Auch das Haus und der Garten bietet viel. Wir sind erfahrene Griechenlandreisende von daher kann ich sagen, dass wir noch nie eine so tolle Terrasse mit Garten in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Meer hatten. Die Bäume geben genug Schatten, so dass man sich den ganzen Tag darauf aufhalten kann. Das Haus bietet alles, was man braucht und die künstlichen Blumen haben wir einfach alle zusammen auf einen Tisch gestellt, ebenso haben wir die Glockenspiele auf der Terrasse abgehängt und am Schluss wieder aufgehängt. Die griechischen Vermieter sind auch die Besitzer und sind sehr nett, und gleichzeitig auch diskret. Sie sprechen nur Griechisch, können aber ihren Sohn aufbieten, der Englisch spricht. Wir hatten eine App die übersetzt. Dort konnten auch die Vermieter drauf sprechen und es übersetzte. Klar half uns, dass wir auch ein wenig Griechisch können. Also nochmals zusammengefasst, einmalig grossartige Location! Die Orte, Landwirtschaft rundherum sind ärmlich, bieten nicht viel,flaches Gebiet. Am besten ist man mit dem Navi unterwegs, viele verzweigte Strassen, kann man sich nicht so gut merken. In Amaliada gibt es einen Lidl für einen Grosseinkauf. Ansonsten kommt morgens ca. um die 9 ein Bäcker mit seinem Auto und hupt, auch ein Gemüse- und Obstverkäufer ist immer mal zu hören per Megaphon mit seiner Ware, natürlich sehr sympathisch. Für Abwechslung kann man Ausflüge machen, das alte Olympia ist nicht sehr weit, ca 28 km, oder ein Ausflug mit der Fähre nach Zakynthos, toll, oder ins Kloster Skafidia. Oder man sucht nach Wanderrouten. Zum Schluss: in Katakolo fanden wir "unser Griechischrestaurant" direkt am Strand, mit grosser Auswahl und sympathischer Familie. Summary: In diesem angenehm luftigen Ferienhaus mit seiner großzügigen Terrasse (sehr gut beschattet und mit 4 Ventilatoren ausgestattet) haben wir einen herrlichen Urlaub verbracht. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen, viel mit Geschenken (Feigen, Eier, Kuchen) versorgt und es gab immer wieder neue Handtücher und Bettwäsche. Wirklich schade nur, dass kaum Kommunikation möglich war, da wir kein Griechisch können und die Vermieter gar kein Englisch oder Deutsch. Das Haus hat gute Schlafmöglichkeiten und bietet auch sonst alles, was man braucht. Es war super, jederzeit an dem schönen Sandstrand im Meer schwimmen gehen zu können, mit der Außendusche den Sand abzuspülen, aus dem Garten von einer Liege auf das Meer zu blicken und abends den Sonnenuntergang über Zakynthos sehen zu können. Mit Leihwagen ist es aber auch ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge, z.B. nach Olympia, Pyrgos, Kiparissia, oder ins Gebirge zu alten Klöstern. Auch eine Tagestour nach Delphi über die Brücke Rion-Antirrion war uns möglich. Ein Kritikpunkt: Die Nachtruhe wurde leider oft heftig gestört von unmittelbar vor dem Schlafzimmerfenster sehr laut anschlagenden Hunden und anderen Tieren....
