We have had our 3 bedroom holiday cottage fully renovated, exposing much of the original beamwork and local stone walling. Featuring a large well equipped kitchen, with a dining table that seats eight comfortably, the kitchen gives onto a sunny patio, beyond which there is a large above ground wood surround private swimming pool, mature extensive and enclosed gardens with sun loungers, sunbeds and hammocks in the trees, a boules pitch and badminton set. The patio features a built in BBQ , with table and chairs for alfresco dining. A dog friendly secure garden.
One of the 2 upstairs bedrooms features an en-suite shower room and a kingsize bed and bedside tables,a chaise longues and large wardrobe. The other upstairs bedroom is furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds, wardrobe, bedside tables, chair and bookcase. The downstairs bedroom is ideal for the less able of us, with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and chairs just down the corridor from the large family sized bathroom, which features a walkin shower, corner bath, two wash basins and armchair. This is a lovely place to enjoy the peace and calm of the Vendée countryside, just 40 minutes away from beautiful golden sandy beaches and plenty of local tourist attractions within an hours drive. Puy de Fou being one if them and the 'O'Gliss waterpark another.
Being grandparents ourselves, we hope we have thought of everything a family would need. We have 2 cots available, and a travel cot and stairgate and large garden for little ones to run around in with lots of garden friendly toys.

Summary: We stayed here with our 3 children (ages 6 & 8) and we had a wonderful time, the raised pool was a bit of a worry but worked out fine in the end. The gite was clean and everything worked as it should we were very happy with everything.

Summary: Nice quiet, rural location in the Vendee. Well equipped farmhouse conversion, with good provisions for kids. Great garden space, lovely pool (but steep steps). Could do with a dust 😉

Summary: Facilities good, very peaceful, easy bike riding in area, garden safe and excellent for dog, perfect space with plenty of shade for baby and pool lovely for all of us. I actually like it being above ground as feels safer (more out of reach) for toddlers and small children. Meal planning and shopping has to be done in advance otherwise becomes a chore, but perhaps the only negative was not enough fridge space. Overall we had a brilliant holiday. Thank you.

Summary: A lovely house in a quiet setting was perfect for us and our reactive dogs. The house was lovely and the hosts met us on the first day and gave us a tour round. Everything was provided which we needed and overall it was an excellent stay. Would recommend highly.

Summary: We spent a week with our 3-year old son in this comfortable house with a lovely garden. While the indoor space is more than adequate and fully caters to the needs of families with (young) children, we mostly enjoyed the outdoor area: a large garden with swing, hammocks, swimming pool and lounge furniture. The surrounding area offers more than enough to do and see. Tricia and Peter are welcoming and friendly hosts, while keeping their next door presence very discreet;

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at La Chapelle Thémer. It was a very quiet environnement. The house was very clean and there were a lot of kitchen equipements. Also the garden was 100% "dog proof", and the pool as well as the hamacs were very appreciated. The owners are very friendly and they respect your privacy.
