Summary: Absolutely spectacular place!! Close to the Royal Gorge and an easy drive to Cañon City. We were able to watch a meteor shower out the back yard!!

Summary: Great property, amenities, and views! We were so impressed and felt like we were experiencing a taste of luxury! There are so many great details: in/outdoor fireplace, a hammock, corn hole, huge patio table, and a grill at the cabin, plus a community fire pit that is steps away. Certainly a lot of care and thought goes into the space. However, I wish there were more staff available onsite for small needs (more toilet paper or dishwasher tabs); and the clean up could have been more thorough. We found pet droppings outside and minor debris on the sheets. We found the beds and pillows comfortable. A point of discomfort: the area rugs used are made of a material that sheds, is pokey/irritating, and very hard to remove from clothing. The fibers went wherever we did, including into the bedding. Were I to stay again, I would always use footwear and would either not sit on the floor or would bring some other cover to put between myself and the area rug.

Summary: We were so delighted to find our wonderful cabin at Royal Gorge cabins. The area was so quiet and the setting so serene. The indoor outdoor fireplace was delightful as was the hammock. Loved it.

Summary: The tent was unbearable! At first look, they are lovely. However, the noise of the nearby highway combined with wind flapping the tent, kept us up ALL night. We forfeited a night and left early which cut our weekend getaway in half. We didn't get to do the sight seeing we had planned for Sunday and we were all exhausted Saturday so we didn't even enjoy our trip. I slept almost 12 hours when I got home after not being able to sleep in the tent. I have camped A LOT, and I have never had such a terrible night's sleep. The property is nice, the facilities are clean, the beds were super comfortable with nice bedding, and there is nice scenery. However, none of that matters when you can't sleep. The only way to make this work is with a sound machine and an eye mask (due to abundant ambient light).
