Negative: The hotel completely forgot we were here to celebrate our anniversary despite it was clearly stated at the booking and the hotel acknowledged such in our previous email conversations. We were not asking for free stuff or room upgrades, just a simple ‘Happy Anniversary!’ during check in from the staffs would feel heartfelt and we would already be grateful about it. However, there was nothing at all, not even a tiny ‘Happy Anniversary’ at the welcome amenity/ tiny cake, nor on the welcoming note from the hotel staffs. We were just treated like every other guests staying here for holiday. Nothing was mentioned during the dinner service either. We felt a bit underwhelmed and finally brought it up during the morning. The staffs stated that they would try to do something about it, but nothing was done at all. We were hoping to have a slightly later check out at 12pm if possible, as we had a lunch reservation elsewhere made at 12:30. However, it was again refused. Ultimately, the hotel manager just came out to have a brief word with us congratulating us for our anniversary when we checked out, but nothing special was offered. Not to mention that they totally forgot about the USD$100 credit that was included during our stay and we had to remind them of that, which we ultimately had to spend it on a bottle of wine to bring it home as a souvenir, just to make ourselves a bit better perhaps. This was our first stay at a Rosewood property and I must say it was quite underwhelming for a hotel at such price point and it was nothing comparable to our stays at AMAN or Four Seasons. I am not sure if I would stay at another Rosewood property ever again to be honest. The service felt alright, staffs are friendly yet felt not as experienced, and I certainly can feel that there is a large gap between Rosewood and its competitors.
