Positive: We loved Rosebank Cottage. Our host very kindly offered to allow us to arrive a day early due to Storm Eowyn. Thank goodness we traveled before the storm and we were comfortably settled in when it arrived. Trees down everywhere! Power went off and we truly felt this was a once in a lifetime experience. Despite having no power we were very comfortable in the cottage. The two wood burners kept us warm and thanks to the vast equipment supplied in the kitchen, we could boil water in the iron kettle and cooked food on top of the burner. Plenty of torches and lanterns provided, thankfully not needed once the powder came back on. Our host checked in with us to ensure we had all we needed. Given the situation we had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to go back! The cottage is wonderful welcoming and perfect for riding out a storm!

Positive: We had an excellent stay at Rosebank. There is everything you need here. Was really impressed with the amount of baby items here (plates, cutlery, high chair and baby gates). Very dog friendly as well with the bowls, treats and poo bags available. Environmental ethos is seen throughout as well. The area itself is stunning. Beautiful beaches and woodland, Kirkcudbright is worth a visit. Local pub has really nice food and friendly landlord and locals. Shame that the weather meant that we were not able to use the garden but they were well maintained with lots of space. Definitely return in the future!

Positive: Beautiful location. Gorgeous cottage. Everything you could ever need was available. Large spacious kitchen dining room, benefit of separate utility room. Very comfortable all round. Bed was super comfy with all organic bedding and towels. The welcome pack was unexpected but really nice. The cottage had fabulous wood burners but the weather was hot so no need for them on. Unfortunately the back garden was too steep for my husband to climb so possibly not suitable for disabled or elderly however fabulous side garden and even more amazing garden seating/ barbecue area opposite the cottage. This holiday was our first ever cottage in celebration of our Ruby wedding anniversary and we loved the whole experience. So much in fact we didn’t want to leave. The only hotel/bar/diner in Borgue is a very relaxed atmosphere and made us and our 6 month puppy feel very welcome. The food was plentiful and enjoyable. In Kircudbright at the golf course there is carry out Thai food. Having visited Thailand 5 times, this is the best food ever outside of Thailand. So much so that you have to book a week in advance. Massive portions ( enough for 2) and we are big eaters and as cheap as it is in Thailand . Food is out of this world. The old schoolhouse is a must and very reasonable too but again best to book in advance. Thankyou to the hosts for allowing us all the material comforts we could ever expect. We had a fabulous time. Excellent accommodation. Highly recommended.

Negative: Nothing. Everything you could need was catered for. Washing machine, dishwasher, abundance of crockery and utensils. All cleaning items were eco friendly Too. Sky tv and lots of books too.

Summary: Magnificent Cottage in lovely rural location. Highly recommended.
