Positive: This is a beautiful alpine lodge hotel in the hills above Salzburg. Spectacular views across to the alps and Salzburg itself and pristine garden area alongside resident goats and chickens. It's really comfortable and welcoming, the staff were very helpful. Our room was on the ground floor with a door into the little garden which was lovely. A really clean and spacious room with a very comfy bed and great shower. We had our dog with us and so ate breakfast in the bar area which has a cosy alpine feel, it was lovely he could come with us to breakfast and everything was fresh and delicious. We didn't use the spa and pool as we had only one night and the weather wasn't great. There's a bus about every hour or so into Salzburg and the bus stop is a few steps from the hotel entrance. The bus stops running about 7.30pm, so we took a cab which took about 20 minutes into the city centre (approx €35). I'd love to go back and spend more time there.

Negative: Nothing not to like, it was gorgeous.

Positive: Very friendly and warm hearted front desk, generous portions of dishes of the hotel's restaurant, beautiful view of the whole city of Salzburg.

Negative: If the space of the room could be a little bigger that would be perfect.

Positive: The breakfast was exceptional and the room was huge. The staff was extremely helpful and go the extra mile to ensure that our needs are met. The Restaurant was awesome and the food was fabulous we had 2 nights of dinner there.

Positive: The views across Salzburg and the alps from the Gasthof garden and surrounds were fantastic. There is a wonderful beer garden with stunning views and the restaurant has a Michelin star (the meals and service warranted that rating). Very comfortable, clean and spacious room with a small balcony and views of the forest. The restaurant, service desk and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. We had a delightful stay (4 days) and would happily stay again. Do note that there are a lot of stairs, but the staff readily offered assistance if you need it.

Positive: This hotel exceeded all of my expectations! The staff and chef were so friendly. The room was clean and made up for three guests as it stated on my reservation. The views from the rooms to the alps was unbeatable. And to top it all off the dinner we had was definitely one of the best on the trip! You are ~25 minutes from the town of Salzburg which could be looked as a downfall but to get these type of views on the mountain is totally worth it to me.
