This romantic studio apartment is 1200 sq. ft. with a plush four-poster Queen bed and a full-size pull out sofa. Relax in your jacuzzi tub for 2. The kitchenette is ready for cooking: microwave, refrigerator, toaster, counter-top oven, hotplate, dishes, spices, Coffee machine, premium coffee, and creamer.Enjoy making Belgian waffles with the waffle maker (batter, syrup provided).
Cuddle up by the electric fireplace and watch TV. Enjoy a gorgeous outdoor view on the deck with swing, small grill, and fire pit. Play badminton, volleyball, and cornhole in the backyard! This room works best for groups of 2-4, but can accommodate up to 6, with use of our cushion-top air mattress.
*Self check-in is now in use for all listings. You should receive instructions prior to your arrival. Please note check-in time is between 4pm-10pm unless otherwise discussed.
Please note the following before booking:
Music must be kept at a non-disruptive volume regardless of the time, and quiet hours are 9pm-9am. We definitely encourage you to unwind, whether that be with a glass of lemonade or a margarita (or two!), but excessively loud or disruptive guests will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund.
***PETS***
Your furry family members are more than welcome at the nature retreat! We do ask that they are predictably friendly around other animals and people, and that they are up to date on all vaccinations and flea/tick prevention. The pet fee is $15/night per pet, and must notify prior to arrival. Also, while here you will likely meet our family dog Rome. He is a fabulous and very social host, and will probably ask you to kindly throw the ball for him.
***INTERNET***
We are in the countryside and because of this we rely on satellite WiFi. This is available to our guests, but it should be noted that the internet can sometimes be spotty, particularly during storms. We provide DISH TV; if you will need a very reliable internet connection for work or play, we recommend bringing along a hotspot.
***CRITTERS***
You are in the country in the woods, surrounded by farmland. We have all sorts of crawling and flying "critters" living here. These include butterflies, centipedes, hornets, carpenter bees, ticks, chiggers, fireflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, moths, ants, and more. They are vital to our wonderful, healthy, fragile ecosystem. Larger wildlife-birds, heron, vultures, bats, turkeys, hawks, owls, turtles, frogs, snakes, lizards, beaver, fox, deer, and 20 + variety of songbirds...are all dependent on "critters" in one way or another. For this reason, we decided against spraying the entire property withWe do our best to keep them out of the living areas by minimally spraying around buildings.
The time of year will determine which critters will be neighboring. They are most active in warm summer months. Please help us with the ongoing battle by:
1) Taking them out and releasing them
2) Using swatters provided
3) Putting food away and keep the counters clean and dry- as water attracts them
4) Keeping window/doors closed and use screens
Please be aware that chiggers and ticks are in the woods- so when walking there, use the provided Off with DEET bug spray!

Summary: The perfect serenity for a getaway. Everything was comfortable, clean and inviting, but not stuffy or stiff. Lived in, cozy. Like house sitting for your favorite Aunt. I'd rent it on a monthly basis, just for myself. The jacuzzi was the highlight, the cherry on top, all in working order and a much needed refreshing escape. I can't say enough good about it. I only a few minor suggestions that I noted could have made it even more stellar of a place... (and I probably should have asked the hosts, but didn't want to bother them) the light on the patio by the door was either out or I wasn't sure of how to turn it on. The fairy lights around the bed canopy were a delightful touch, I love fairy lights, but I couldn't figure out how to make them work, and the outside umbrella might benefit from a good power washing.

Summary: We really enjoyed staying here. The hosts are absolutely great! The place gives you total privacy and the jacuzzi is awesome. The guys have the place stocked extremely well with coffee, fresh clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, first aid kit, and so so much more. We loved their friendly dog who came to visit each day, and watching the ducks and chickens.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay here because it was private and peaceful. Loved having coffee on the back deck listening to the birds. The visits from the owners dog was great too!

Summary: We came down to Delaware to explore the neighborhoods and coasts and this place was an ideal location for that, being within an hour of the beaches and the Chesapeake bay coast in MD. Check in was easy, and Pat and Randy were teriffic hosts - champagne, smores fixings, pancake mix were provided as welcome gifts. Second day they surprised us with a dozen fresh-caught and cooked crabs - delicious! Then a few days later, crab cakes! We had a great time and it worked out well for our purposes - we didn't use the other ameneties on the nice, secluded property like the pool, barbecuse, firepit, etc. A nice place with great hosts, we'd stay there again! Summary: Our stay was to attend family events in nearby Milford.? Location was perfect. The privacy and serenity of this location was wonderful. We wish we had been able to take more advantage of our surroundings, the wildlife sharing this location was amazing. We saw baby deer, bunny rabbits, were serenaded with dozens of varieties of songbirds and a resident bullfrog. There was a Nespresso machine available however no instructions on the use, a wonderful fireplace , again no idea how to utilize and the first night was very chilly. There were several space heaters available which we were able to make use of. We fortunately had our own 5 cup coffee maker with us (for regular coffee) as well as some cleaning supplies, sponges, dish soap, paper towels, dish towels etc. which came into play. The apartment size fridge was adequate for our stay as most of our meals were taken with family nearby. Pots and pans were readily available and the hot plate provided was adequate for our needs, however washing up we used the bathroom which boasted a larger sink although kitchenette sink was beautiful. We would love to revisit this very lovely and honey location in the future and reap the benefits of what was available. ❤️

Summary: This unique tranquil gem in its secluded location is a fantastic getaway for you and your significant other. It is an ideal property off the beaten path that has a very polished rustic look and a high-end bathing facility, along with all the hygienic commodities you can ask for. Along with its spectacular price point, makes it an unbeatable value. A super friendly -host with the most- that offers complimentary beer and popcorn is a must book!!!

Summary: Highlights: the tub and bathroom is luxurious! Great light in the room, with bay windows. One window set has a birdfeeder that was lively and we loved starting the day with a cup off coffee, watching the various birds. The coffee maker and milk steamer made for delicious barista style coffee. Lowlights: Expecting an apartment on site with other rentals, it was surprising to see it is really an in-law suite connected to the owner's home. The kitchenette is as limited as described – with a very small sink. It was a challenge to cook meals there and the grill outside is unfortunately a miniature charcoal grill. We made do but four nights was probably a stretch given the limited cooking amenities. Initially, a few basic things were overlooked (no dish towels, full grease bin, smelly old sponge, no trash bags, etc.) and while we appreciated how helpful and responsive Randall was about them, they seem to be things that should be checked ahead of a guest’s arrival.

Summary: This is a perfect retreat place! It's very quiet. I stayed out of the summer season though. It's probably a bit more "active" during the summer. While it is a bit in the middle of nowhere, it's also very close to MANY places of interests. There's a lot to do in the area. Pat and Randall have prepared EVERYTHING, I really mean EVERYTHING for you to have a perfect stay. I truly mean everything. If you're looking for an impromptu weekend and don't have a lot of time for preparations, this is the place! From breakfast, to snack, to toothbrushes, to S'Mores emergency kit. I won't tell you everything because I'd spoil some surprises. I'm always really grateful for pet friendly places, thank you! There is a large dog on site but he's friendly. He and my dog didn't become BFF , they just ignored each other. Good enough. ;) While the owners live on site, they're really careful about respecting your privacy. During this pandemic, they practice distancing religiously but still make sure you enjoy your stay!
