Positive: The location is incredible and picnic bay is lovely. The place is clean and nice but not many ‘extras’ for the premium $500/night price. For example we booked 7 nights and were given 2 rolls of toilet paper. Picnic bay doesn’t have a store so you have to go back to Nelly bay to get more.

Negative: We booked this in June knowing it might be a little cold for swimming so the heated pool was a big draw card. The pool is not heated at all and should be removed as part of it. Summer would be excellent but colder months the pool is in shade and very cold. The wifi is terrible - like can’t get anything which can be challenging when you are wanting to book things etc or even watch a bit of Netflix when it’s rainy. For the $500/night you should expect that as a minimum.

Summary: The place is good and we enjoyed our time on magnetic island just disappointed with the pool particularly as it’s advert

Positive: Stunning location. Convenient to some nice dining options

Negative: Pathetic internet. About 1 megabits. Logged on to Netflix on TV and resolution was severely degraded due to low bandwidth. Also some buffering. Gave up trying to use internet using devices and resorted to tethering to my phone which could get up to 100 megabits so no excuse for accommodation having such poor performance. Mentioned to office and their only response was to try rebooting. Which of course didn't help.

Summary: Lovely stay but would find hard to recommend if you need good internet.

Positive: You walk out the back gate onto a grassy area and then the beach. The villa was beautiful, clean and walking distance to a cafe, pub, pizza shop and brewery. The pool was nice and warm day and night.
