Positive: We loved how communicative, accommodating, and friendly Harry and Chloe were right from the outset. The lodge itself was perfect for us and accommodated our diverse party of 6 quite easily. We loved the decor and the comfortable feel of the place. We loved the big window and amazing view in the mornings and coffees on the veranda (love a veranda!). We loved the friendly farm dog that welcomed us on arrival. We loved the kitchen as a place to hang out or the living room. Having different "zones" was great for different activities/needs. We loved that it felt like a home. I loved the Bauhaus and William Morris prints and the cupboard with the wonky doors. We loved our time here and would definitely come back!
Negative: The showers were a bit disappointing. The one near the kitchen was a bit dribble, and the one near the living room was all over the show, scalding to freezing. I think user number 4 figured out the eco setting was the most reliable, but sadly, that user wasn't me. Small beer, though, too many good points to stress about the showers. Also, there was a warm invitation to light a fire but no way to prepare kindling to get one going.. We considered leaving you an axe for other guests but thought that might be a weird present... We managed one, but it was a little frustrating. Probably user error, though, as I'm not really used to just using firestarters... this boy scout likes an axe. Thankfully, we were out too much for this to be an actual problem.
Summary: Cozy, Comfortable, inClusive cottage (lodge)
