Positive: Cosy cottage with good shower and comfy beds. The pictures don’t do it justice!

Negative: The communication from the Sykes cottages portal could do with a tweak - lots of long emails but the really useful info came directly from the host

Negative: it was a little tired, towels are in desperate need of changing, large utensils knives etc in limited supply, fridge being in the utility was a bit of a pain, carpets were very thin. overall needs a refresh

Positive: Ideal location for exploring Northumberland coast. Quiet village with lovely outlook onto fields but good pub/ restaurant within a few minutes walk. Comfortable, warm and very welcoming feel. Loved the reclining sofa and chair.

Negative: Nothing I didn’t like about the actual place. Could have done with a bit more in the kitchen in the way of equipment, no chopping boards provided which seems odd as surely they want their work tops protected?? We cooked at home mostly so a balloon whisk would have been handy too and some sort of cleaner for surfaces. But these are just minor points.

Positive: Property was very clean and warm on our arrival. A bottle of Prosseco and chocolate had been left out for us which was very welcome after a long journey, as were the reclining settees! The property is within walking distance of lovely dining pub in the village. Very quiet and peaceful location in a small cul-de-sac but within easy access of the A1 and local places of interest. Host was very prompt to respond to a couple of questions we had.

Negative: Wi-Fi reception not brilliant.
