Positive: The balcony over the river was just fabulous. We spent out evening eating and chilling outside in peace.

Negative: Everything was great. But I can imagine that for tourists it would be a little hard to navigate the neighbourhood. Our party was mostly Thais and we just used Grab to pick us up at the church to take us to where we wanted to go.

Positive: Lovely big bedrooms. Fabulous outlook, directly on to the Chao Phraya River. AC very efficient and very welcome. Quiet position on river, so no road noise and pleasant boat traffic. Great to sit out at night for a quiet drink. Big comfortable beds, soft towels.

Negative: Location caused a few issues, especially stressful for airport pick ups and drop offs. Located in a residential area, quite a walk to bars and restaurants. Kitchen set up could be a little more organised. Utensils, crockery, cutlery, glasses in random boxes. Mirror in top bedroom would be nice.

Positive: We loved everything about the place, the location on the river, the view, the comfort, the size of the rooms, the cleanliness. The host provided so many unexpected things: international conversion plugs, chargers, flashlights, bug spray, lots of suggestions of things to do and see. He even texted us to let us know about the royal procession which literally came right past the house. We had an unobstructed view which thousands would've envied! As older travelers in our late 60's and 70's, access to the house was unfortunately an issue for us. Access to the house is limited to walking, riding a bike or small motorcycle. The driver we'd hired had to wind through extremely narrow streets and then park several blocks away and walk us to the house. (The day of our arrival the owner provided excellent detailed walking instructions which included turn by turn pictures.) Our driver discovered an alternate route the next morning which allowed him access to a parking lot at a temple. While we wouldn't stay here again, we highly recommend it for anyone more mobile, and more internet savvy. We loved being in a neighborhood which provided wonderful insights to local life, the neighbors were friendly and helpful, street food, local markets, as well as western restaurants such as Subway (and even two 7 Elevens) were blocks away. The owner provides several bikes which would make trips easy.

Negative: The house can't be reached by car or van. Access is restricted to walking, riding a bike or motorcycle for several blocks. If you're younger and more mobile than this group of late 60 to late 70 year olds, I highly recommend this unique place.
