Come and get away from it all at Riverbend Retreat, nestled in the woods along a gorgeous bend of the Bear River with a swimming hole just below the house.
Relax on the deck and listen to the river and enjoy the peaceful natural setting. Take a dip in the private swimming hole, curl up in front of the fire, or take a walk through the woods. The house is just 10 minutes from town, but you will feel like you have the view from the deck all to yourself, surrounded by tree covered hills, granite outcroppings, and bright stars on clear nights.
If you want to explore the area, Riverbend Retreat is within 20 minutes of the historic gold rush towns of Old Auburn, Grass Valley, and Nevada City, with restaurants, shopping, and nearby wineries. Hiking and scenery abound in the Sierra foothills and in the winter months its only one hour up to the ski resorts of Tahoe.
This home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and can comfortably sleep 6 adults. The master bedroom has a King bed, en suite bathroom, and its own deck access overlooking the river. The second bedroom has a king bed, and the third bedroom has a king bed that can be converted to two twin beds if requested in advance. The house is one level with no interior stairs, but there are stairs leading to the lower deck and river access.
Newly remodeled full kitchen, outdoor grill, and laundry room. TV with streaming, DVD player with large DVD collection, and games and puzzles for your use. Parking for up to three cars in the driveway with an EV charger available in the garage. Starlink Satellite Wi-Fi is available, cell signal varies by carrier.
Dogs are welcome but should be leashed outside for their own safety.
We do not recommend for children under 5 years old due to the river access, wildlife, and high deck.
Early or late check outs may be available upon request for a small fee.

Summary: This home is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. It seemed like the owners thought of everything. The kitchen is even better equipped than our own! Everyone loved the swimming hole (water was cool but comfortable in afternoons in June); just know if you have mobility issues the short trail leading to it is somewhat steep and rocky. It wasn't a problem for us, though. We also enjoyed the other trails meandering throughout the property. I particularly enjoyed just sitting on the huge balcony deck, watching the turkey vultures and ravens glide across the sky. No complaints; only happy memories. Beautiful property!

Summary: Our stay at Riverbend Retreat was nothing short of exceptional. It was one of, if not the nicest property we’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. The tranquil riverfront setting provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The house itself was beautifully appointed and incredibly comfortable, feeling more like a home than a rental. We were particularly impressed by the well-equipped kitchen. It was a pleasant surprise to find it stocked with quality cookware and utensils, making meal preparation a breeze. This allowed us to fully enjoy our time at the house, whether we were cooking a gourmet meal or a simple snack. The property’s private river access was a highlight of our stay. The serene riverfront was just steps away, offering endless opportunities for relaxation and recreation. We couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and rejuvenating vacation. Highly recommend!

Summary: Very thoughtful hosts thinking of every detail to ensure their guests are cozy and have all they need. The beds were super comfy and warm, with the bedrooms stocked with extra blankets and pillows. We loved the kitchen and cozy living room. Our favorite place was to sit on tue deck and enjoy the river and scenery. We will be back!

Summary: The house was spotless and bigger than what we had imagined. The instructions to get there were right on point. It was so close to the river that it felt we could touch it. We had a difficult 1/2 of the year as a family, and this was our time to relax and reset. It was peaceful and so beautiful - exactly what we needed. We didn't want to come back. The owners thought of everything. There was nothing that we needed to contact them for because we had everything and more - towels to go to the river, inflatable tubes, etc. We would recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for making our time special!

Summary: In actuality, I’d say a home I’d like to call my home. Beautifully located by the Bear River, the very clean and modernized home boasted some great amenities for and felt like a luxury hotel in many ways. To top it off, you enjoyed a private body of water directly on the back of the home that really gave you a private area to frolic in the cool water under a blazing sun. I highly recommend this place and hope that we get the chance to visit this place again.

Summary: We REALLY enjoyed our stay. The house is excellent, the AC was nice and cold during a heat wave, and the hosts have seemingly thought of everything. The house was super clean, comfortable, and well appointed, especially in the kitchen. The view and the quiet are top notch and the private swimming hole was absolutely amazing. We spend almost our entire time there. Should you need to go into town, it's not far away. Loved the old magazines and books, as well as the solid DVD collection. Wifi worked great, but no Verizon cell service. Overall, we had a great time and this was one of the best places we have rented to date. Would definitely stay again and totally recommend it. Also, Jennifer was a very responsive host. What are you waiting for, just book it already!

Summary: The house is lovely, and so well appointed! We felt very much at home. The view of the river from all of the decks is nothing short of amazing. Spent most days just sitting out there under cozy blankets and enjoying wine and family time. Highly recommend!
