Positive: Pete and the family are absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Such a beautiful setting, and all amenities really thought through. The kids loved being able to feed the chickens and sheep and collecting fresh eggs for breakfast. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning, the kids will make sure of that. Positive: The hosts were incredible; friendly, accommodating and really alleviated any initial anxieties I had as a city dweller entirely new to camping. This wasnt camping though - this was glamping! The whole experience was magical - it’s the only real word I can use to describe it. Sleeping near the stream, listening to the water trickle and the animals at night. I usually struggle to sleep but slept like a baby. We saw stars in the sky, fish in the stream and spent hours by our own campfire overlooking the stream toasting marshmallows. The children didn’t use any electronics and they was no complaints whatsoever. They both loved feeding the animals with Pete in the morning, skipped rocks in the stream, played pool with their new friends and chilled out in the hot tub. We had spent a bomb taking the kids to a 5 star all singing all dancing all inclusive at the beginning of the summer holidays and the children said they would choose going back to Pete’s glamping over that every time. Location is perfect, very rural close enough to great attractions without being so close to blur the off grid experience. Local village 10 mins drive away with everything you would want. We went horse trekking in the Brecon Beacons (around 40 mins drive), water sports with kids on the lakes - canoe / kayak / paddle board - (around 45 mins drive) and explored the caves at the national showcases (40 mins drive). I wasn’t sure what we would need so I brought everything and the kitchen sink but nothing got used as everything we could need was there. Washing lines. Shoe racks and mats outside the tents. Fire pits. Cooking equipment including plates / cups / cutlery. Even eco friendly shower gel is provided. We will be back for sure and gutted to be back in London.

Negative: Beware - the campsite is only currently operational over the summer holidays and so if you blink you will miss your chance to experience this. Would be absolutely fabulous if there was a way to get wood burner heating in the tents to allow for stays in the spring and early autumn.

Positive: River view glamping is clearly way more than just a business; it is Pete and Ellie’s passion project. Pete’s engagement with his guests and especially the children makes the experience here totally unique. The children had the most magical time, having the river in hand for swimming and fishing everyday, plus the chicken and sheep feeding, toasting marshmallows and cooking meals on the BBQ and fire pit. If you have a birthday or special occasion, definitely let them know; Ellie made the most beautiful birthday balloon for my sister’s birthday and set up some beautiful bunting. Would also recommend: Newton House national trust property 30min drive away (great for rainy days) Circular walk starting from the nearby station going under the viaduct Red kite feeding in the afternoon (30min drive away) Beds were the MOST comfortable. Hot tub heated when we requested. Generator lit up the barn at night time. This really is a little piece of nature heaven! We will definitely be back!! My children are already asking when (and if we can move there 🤣)

Positive: Lovely, picturesque place. Pete (owner) was very welcoming and friendly- nothing was too much trouble. Woodfired hot tub was gorgeous, as was a dip in the steam! Shower lovely and warm. Beds very comfy. It's basic camping with some luxury and we lived it!

Negative: As discussed with Pete, could do with a shower changing area.

Positive: We knew we were in for a treat after reading the reviews but we wasn't quite prepared for how good it actually was. They have created a perfect balance of simple camping in a beautiful natural setting with the splash of a little luxury that was much appreciated. Everything from our welcome and intro around the property to our wave off when leaving was so lovely. Everyone was happy to see Pete popping by to check all is well and never seen the kids so happy to get up early and do the animal feeding rounds with him. He had lots of time and patience to answer all of their questions, nothing was too much trouble. We were very lucky to have the whole place to ourselves for the first day and it was fully appreciated. We made the most in every sense. Upon arrival Pete had fired up the hot tub for us so we all enjoyed that followed by a dip in the river for fun. We were lucky to spot some kingfishers aswell. The girls enjoyed foraging for blueberries for breakfast too. Along with enjoying the views, river and the lovely outdoor space, the kids loved the pool table and dart set up. This kept them busy whilst we had a little rain. There were 6 of us comfortably sleeping in one tent, and we didn't feel cramped. Very happy with the beds. We slept well. We also made good use of the shared kitchen facilities as well as cooking outdoors. Pete also set us up to use the pizza oven and allowed us to use his telescope to stargaze one clear night. This weekend was just what we all needed as a family. It was the kids first time camping and it will be a tough one to beat. What a perfect set up they have created there. We would have loved to stay longer. Thank you so much for a wonderful time. Truly a little slice of heaven.

Positive: Beautiful location, excellent amenities. Kids loved the pool table and dartboard, and our dog had the best time exploring the site. Our 11 year old, who usually hates mornings, wanted to get up early to feed the chickens and collect eggs, she absolutely loved it. The highlight of the trip though was our host Pete! Friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, really made the stay amazing and easy!
