Sleeps 8 with 2 queens beds, king & sofa bed in family room. Huge laundry room with w/d. 3 flat screen tv’s. Large kitchen, double oven, stainless appliances & well equipped for cooking. Lovely outdoor space with BBQ. This property is conveniently located on the only road to Tofino/ Sprout lake therefore is usually busy with traffic. The back yard is the riverside & quieter.

Summary: Excellent location between town and the lake. Well appointed with everything a family needs and plenty of space to spread out. Beaautiful backyard on the river where we watched both eagles and bears catch salmon. The dock and kayaks were a hit with the kids. A great alternative to staying on the lake.

Summary: The house was very clean, had all amenities and very easy to find. The host was very responsive and took care of everything. Great for large groups and kids. There were 3 kayaks to use as well on property.

Summary: This was the ideal home for our stay in Port Alberni. There was plenty of room so my parents were able to join us as well. We had 2 boys skating hockey showcases over the weekend so the mud room was a dream! We did not have near enough time or cooperating weather to enjoy the backyard to its full potential but it was peaceful and lovely to sit under the pergola even in the rain. The home was fully stocked and we had everything we needed but Barb was very responsive and easy to work with should anything have come up. Highly recommend this gem.

Summary: We are 6 adults with some of us over the age of 80 and we had a wonderful time hiking with everything within a short distance away. The home was beautiful and right on the river with a great view. We will definitely come back to this home but for a longer period of time...one week was just not enough with so many things to see and do. I truly recommend this home and location. Kathy

Summary: We were very happy with our stay here. The house was comfortable, well-maintained, and well-equipped, and the yard and view were everything anyone could ask for. The only flaw was the occasional road noise.

Summary: We’re 5, very good, old friends, who thought it was high time to all get together. Two live in Port Alberni, the other 3 of us rented The Riverside Retreat. It was perfect! We all had our own bedroom, it had a large open kitchen dining room with a lovely view of the river, that was the perfect place to sit around, drink wine, snack and catch up. Would definitely recommend.

Summary: My son and I stayed here for a week while he was attending a local hockey camp. This house has an amazing yard where we spent most of our time when home. The river was relaxing and refreshing. Make sure your little ones wear a life jacket (supplied by owner) as there can be a bit of a current. The house was also great. Large kitchen with pretty much any supply you might need. Very clean. And communication with owner was quite easy. Overall a great week.
