Positive: Riva is a well-maintained and comfortable property. It has lovely gardens and more than one pool. The staff is exceptionally kind, attentive, and friendly (shout out to Puja/Priya)!) It’s right near a nice stretch of the Mandrem Beach and manages to be quiet despite being not far from some of the noisier shacks. The rooms that look onto the creek/ocean are nice and spacious and have lovely little balconies or terraces. It’s just right mix of charming and relaxed without being over the top.

Negative: • No soundproofing in the room: you can clearly hear the street and everything happening around. • When the ventilation is working, there is a damp/musty smell coming from it. • Loud and inappropriate music is played during breakfast, similar to a supermarket. The chairs are dirty and look like they haven’t been cleaned for weeks. • On December 31, a spa employee offered us an evening end-of-year yoga session in an open area. However, at the same time a music program started in the hotel, and the class was disrupted. Instead of the sound of singing bowls, we had to listen to a DJ. • On December 31, we booked massages for the evening. When we arrived, it turned out that the staff had already left and the procedures we had booked could not be provided. When we agreed to change the type of service, we were given a massage also using a different technique that was agreed and for a shorter duration. The toilet and shower where we had to change were not cleaned. The massage table had a damp smell.

Positive: I signed up for A Cross-Fit Training with Anna from Germany and a Full-body Burn HIIT workout with Jason from U.S. I have been part of Cult Fitness and knew what to expect in a Bull Body Burn workout but these sessions unlike other Gyms explained exactly which muscle is supposed to work when you use an equipment, which I used to otherwise use equipment at the Gym without understanding the right technique to use them and which muscle was supposed to work while using the equipment. Also when you stop working out for long and suddenly start with HIIT your body does not cope, my Trainer Jason was quick to realize this and gave me low intensity workout and asked me to just drink lots of water and stop. Reason why many people have heart attacks during work outs is because they do not know when to stop, and I am glad I had a certified Trainer to spot this early on. I also had a Russian and a German counterparts who were at an advance level and was really motivating me to push my boundaries. I would definitely recommend Anna if you are vising Riva Resort for Cross fit Training. Thank You Anna, would love to Train with you again!!

Negative: 1.Follow-up I had to do for getting the Invoice when there were a number of requests and reminders placed that I would be checking out early morning and would need my bills ready - Despite assurances I had to literally follow-up on email/phone call and whatsapp to get the Invoice 2. Less Veg options for lunch / Dinner
