Summary: This was an ideal place for my spouse, service dog, and I to getaway and decompress from everyday demands. We came to Westcliffe from the east. Got groceries and supplies there, then located the property. We did not get back in the car until the end of our stay. The cabin could use TLC, but is lovely & comfortable. We slept so well! Views were gorgeous, except you see another home out of nearly each window. It is up the side of the valley. We had clouds and high winds. Didn't drive to hiking trails, only walked the property and road. We all relaxed, which was the goal of the trip. I would recommend and return. Communication with the host was easy & friendly. I might suggest an instruction book for how to use the microwave, relock door from outside, etc.. We drove south through the valley for our return to MO. It is a beautiful area. I'm so glad to have had this experience!522

Summary: Nice cabin in a beautiful setting. The view is amazing and the cabin was comfortable. We were disappointed with a few things at the cabin:1: We were charged the 50 fee by vrbo for the hot tub without stating that we intended to use it. 2: Since we were charged the fee we decided to use the hot tub. The weather was quite cool and windy while we were there. The hot tub was unable to keep the temperature of the water at the set temp and cooled rather rapidly making the water too cool to remain in. There was also a heavy scum ring around the perimeter of the tub at the water line which was a little disgusting.3: The bath tub/shower drain was draining extremely slow. I had to remove the stopper and clear out a large mass of hair in order for it to drain.4: the ceiling in the living room had 2 places where water was leaking from. It had snowed only an inch or two but it was apparently enough to cause a leak.I realize these are nit-picky things but they are things I would have liked to have been informed of before renting the cabin.

Summary: This was a beautiful property-- well-appointed and comfortable. We came for the solitude. A lot we could have done but we dod a lot of walking, reading, talking and game playing ad well as visits with nearby family. The fantastic Sangre de Christo mountains are stunning at all hours of the day or night. Amazing stars, snow and wildlife -- deer and elk. The cabin kept us cozy even as temperatures were at ir below freezing for days. Thank you for a great stsy.
