Positive: We stayed at the Riad Zidania 1 night from Feb 21-22 in the Suite Junior. A traditional, classic and very authentic riad - we liked the slightly old fashioned flair and ambiance a lot. Our room was comfortable, spacious enough, bright and with good light at night, a good bed and very quiet. Great, very convenient location between Medina and Royal sites with safe and convenient parking 5 minutes walking distance and very easy to find (great if you travel by car). Nice rooftop – great to relax there in the evening. In Feb the city was full of storks: To watch the storks and listen to their clattering at dawn up on the roof top before the noise of the city started was just magical! Breakfast could have offered a bit more variety but in all fairness we also did not ask for more. What do you want more for a great stay on Meknes: Great location, comfy room and great flair of the riad. Top recommendation from our side!

Positive: We stayed in many riads during our 6 weeks in Morocco. This is, by far, the best. The whole property is beautiful. The staff are wonderful. The bed is super comfortable, the shower was perfect. The room is spacious. Highly recommend.

Positive: An interesting mix of a traditional Riad and hotel. The common areas feel like a historic Riad, with beautiful decor and furnishings, but the rooms feel like a mid-range western hotel. The best part of our stay was the breakfast which was both massive and delicious. Really enjoyed the different breads and cake each morning. Plus you get hard boiled eggs and yoghurt. The location is perfect, a few minutes walk from the main square and souk. The terrace has an incredible view of nesting storks, the Mausoleum and the medina. 10 dirham for a collective taxi to the hotel. 15 dirham for a private taxi from Bab Mansour to the station.

Negative: Unfortunately the shower doesn’t get hot (barely lukewarm) and the rooms don’t come with balconies or irons as advertised, and you can’t borrow an iron: they have a paid for ironing service. To get into the Riad you have to knock to be let in, which is very odd and not normal in Morocco. The pool is nothing like the photo. It’s tiny. More like a jacuzzi.
